my late grandmother - may Allah ta'ala forgive her and have mercy on her - used to say: "earlier, people would not wail or become distraught at death. they accepted it as a fact of life and moved on."

we are muslims and we shouldn't whip up passions and perpetuate sadness (gham-parwari); it is therefore forbidden to mourn the dead for more than 3 days (other than the widow, who continues until her waiting period).

death is not the end for a muslim.
    death is a new beginning.
death is the portal through which you enter a life of everlasting happiness.
death is certain and death is sure to come at the appointed time; none can escape it.

we are also sunni muslims who believe in destiny. everything is destined.

every hardship that we suffer is destined:

death is, but one thing from destiny:

everyone dies. celebrities die. rich people die. kings and princes die. planners die. policemen die. politicians die. policymakers die. security folk die. it is the bleedingly obvious.

as a muslim, death in one of the two sanctuaries (haramayn sharifayn) is to be eagerly wished for; and we pray that when death comes, we die in the illuminated and radiant city of the beloved - sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam:

Taybah mein mar-ke thandey chale jaO aankheN band
seedhi saDak ye shahr e shafa'at nagar ki hai

Die in Taybah, and pass on coolly, eyes closed
for this is the straight road to the city of salvation (that is, after intercession).

    ---
since death is inevitable - would a muslim wish to die in a palace with every comfort and luxury; OR in the Haramayn?
would a muslim prefer to die in an expensive hospital or in the Haramayn?
would a muslim prefer to die surrounded by his relatives in his own city (other than Haramayn) or as a stranger in the Haramayn?
would a muslim prefer to die in a storm, a hurricane, an earthquake out of Haramayn or IN the masjid al-Haram, as a Haji?
would a muslim prefer to die conducting his business, OR as a Haji IN the Haram?

    ya sub'HanAllah!

    why the hand-wringing then?

true, we wish and pray for safety of muslims - but that is only so much we can do. there are things beyond our control - and we must not lament and agonise over things which are not in our power.

so, as muslims, we must obey and submit to the Will of Allah ta'ala:

    and remember:

i saw the mother lift her dead child pulling him around with her head waiving in distress. Just a few second ago she was with him while he was playing around her. Dont know what happened to the other brother. i didnt see the mother picking up that child.

Allah! i saw the father pick up the other child !

cant see it anymore!!! All of this in front of the Ka'ba Musharrafah

there is a new CCTV capture of the crane crash that shows the impact of the huge pieces hitting the Hajis directly. They had no chance ! The CCTV footage shows everything. Ya Allah! The pieces came at them like a bullet tossing, breaking, cutting bodies in the air 50 metres away! Seemed like the day of Qiyamah. Blood splashed on the marble floor. All within an instant.

one hit a child directly with his mother. i saw it. The same piece hit another woman, while maiming two Hajis breaking their bodies up into rubber.

The child saw the piece coming at him but human beings do not possess a speed to avoid the what was coming at them! The video is on youtube. Cannot post here because it is unimaginably shocking and horror

inna lilAllahi wa inna ilaihi rajioon
