and what about Asif bin Barkhiya fetching the throne of Bilkis for Sulaiman alaihis salam? Would you see that as a command from a Prophet to the wali? Or is that an example of wasila? I have heard a number of sunni ulemas cite this incident as proof for wasila.
and what about the aHadith where rasulAllah sallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam asked Allah by the virtue of those who ask Him? were they only to teach the ummah? what about musa benefitting from khadir? 'alaihimus salam.
that was du'a of the Prophet sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam for umar; a gift for `umar. raDiyallahu `anhu.
So, we human beings are twice the children of Prophets. All men and women on earth are the children (from the body) of Prophet Adam :as: and then the children of Prophet NuH :as: Now, isn't that such a station for us common human beings? I can run around in happiness and claim out loud that I am the son of a Prophet :as: But did not Allah ta'ala say man is his vicegerent on Earth? So, we are from the flesh and blood of a Prophet and we are khalifas as well, and then we are ummatis of RasulAllah :sas: as well, another station (higher than all others?) I feel ashamed now. Being so special, what did I do for Islam and Tasawwuf?
this may be useful too: our master sallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "O Allah! Grant Islam respect through Umar ibn Khattab." (Ibn Majah) also, i remember reading a hadith where the prophet sallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam asked Allah by the wasila of the other prophets 'alaihimussalam and if i remember correctly by the virtue of the believers? i found this from shaykh zayni dahlan raHimahullah: If performing tawassul had been blasphemy, then the believers, i.e., the Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, his Companions, and the Salaf and Khalaf of this nation would not have done it. Yet it is mentioned in the sahih hadith of the Prophet that the Prophet used to ask Allah by saying: which means: "O Allah, I ask You by the status of those who ask You.(10) " Without doubt, this is tawassul. The Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, used to teach this supplication (du'a') to his Companions and order them to say it. (10) Ibn Majah and others related this hadith and the-Hafidh, Ibn Hajar, deemed it a strong hadith. http://village.flashnet.it/users/fn034463/fitnah.html
is that not possible? what about musa 'alaihis salam and khadir? even if he did, i can't remember any.
mawlana ziaullah qadri once came to birmingham's ghamkol sharif masjid to do a talk. he said that nuH 'alaihis salam would build the ark and by morning, it would be eroded away by termites. so he put the names of the khulafa al-rashidin in the four corners of the ark and due to their barakah, the termites were no longer able to eat the ark and it survived thereafter. this is another evidence for ahlu's sunnah to place ta'wiz on the walls of their homes.
alaHazrat says in al-Malfuz: The victims of the great flood (of Nuh’s time) did not have any descendants. Only the progeny of Hazrat Nuh (Alaihis Salam) lives on this earth.
