Imam al-Haythami states in his majma al-zawaid that the chain of transmission is authentic for the following:

Imam Ali ibn abi Talib (as) says that every dua is blocked from being accepted unless one sends salat/blessings upon Mohammed

First see the command (Hukm) that is mentioned n the Holy Qur'an:-

Translation: Indeed Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet; O People who Believe! Send blessings and abundant salutations upon him. (Everlasting peace and unlimited blessings be upon the Holy Prophet Mohammed.)

We are therefore commanded to send blessings, and salutations (i.e SALAAM) upon the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him).

Secondly, study the wordings of the Durood Ibraheemi:-

This specific Durood does NOT contain salutations upon the Holy Prophet.

Therefore, in order to comply with the command of Allah, the Supreme, we need to send salutations, along with seeking favor / blessings etc. Since it is missing in Durood e Ibraheemi, we recite the duroods that contain those words of salutation; for example:-

PS: If someone objects as to why the words of salutations are not mentioned in the Durood e Ibraheemi being read in the Prayer (Salaat / Namaaz), since the command is to also send salutations - the reply is that the salutations were already sent in the Tashahhud, even BEFORE reciting the Durood Shareef. "asSalaamo alayka ayyuha anNabiyyo wa Rehmatu Allahe wa Barakatuh"

Are things which are not mentioned in the Quran and Hadeesprohibited

    Question:

Meelaadun Nabi, Giyaarwee Shareef, 3 days; 10 days and 40 days Khatam is not mentioned in the Quran or Hadees. How can these practices be allowed in Islam?

    Answer:

The rule is that everything is Halaal unless explicitly forbidden (with the exception of few things like meat or woman, they are Haraam originally, meat becomes Halaal with Shar’ee slaughtering and a Ghair-Mahram woman becomes Halaal with the performance of Nikaah).

As long as there is no authentic statement from the Glorious Quran or the blessed Sunnah of the Prophetصَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم that a particular thing is forbidden, then it is considered as Halaal.

A Hadees Shareef is mentioned in Tirmizi Shareef,‘’Halaal is what Allah has made Halaal in His book and Haraam is what He had made Haraam. From what Allah remained silent that is allowed.’’

(Jaami’Al-Tirmizi Abwaabul-libaas printed by Kutub Khaana Rashidia, Dehli, Vol. 1, Pg. 206)

Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّsays in the Glorious Quran:

‘’O believers! Do not ask about matters which, if disclosed to you, , may displease you; and if you ask about them while the Quran is being sent down, they will be disclosed to you; Allah has forgiven these; and Allah is Oft forgiving Most Forbearing.”

    (Suratul Maa-idah,Verse 101)

Daar Qutni reports from Abu Sa’labah Khashni that our beloved Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّمsaid, ‘’Undoubtedly, Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّhas made few things obligatory, do not lose your grip on them. And He has made somethings Haraam, do not violate them. He has put some limits, do not cross them. He remained silent from few things knowingly, do not investigate them.’’

(Sunan Ad-Daar Al-Qutni, Baabur Rida, printed by Nashrus Sunnah, Multan, Vol. 4, Pg. 184)

This rule of Sharee’ah must always be remembered, ‘’whatever is proven from the Holy Quran and blessed Hadees as good or bad, that would be good or bad. And something that is not mentioned, it is forgiven, Jaaiz and permissible. If it is done with some good intentions, it becomes Mustahab, like Meelaad Shareef etc. it is done to increase the love of Rasoolullaahصَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم and to educate the Muslim community about the Seerah(blessed life) of the beloved Rasoolصَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم’’ and to regard things as Haram which are not mentioned in Holy Quran and blessed Hadees, contradicts the Islamic Sharee’ah.

Allahعَزَّوَجَلَّ says in the Glorious Quran, ‘’and do not say, the lie which your tongues speak – ‘this is lawful and this is unlawful’ in order to fabricate a lie against Allah; indeed those who fabricate lies against Allah will never prosper.’’

    (Surah Al- Nahl, Verse 116)

It is mentioned in ‘Muwaahib’ by ‘Allaamah Ahmad Bin Muhammad Qastalaaniعَلَيْهرَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی, a great commentator of Saheeh Bukhari: ‘’the doing of something (by Rasoolullaahصَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم or Sahaabahعَلَيْهِمُ الرِّضْوَان) is proof of permissibility, but (by them) not doing something is not a proof of impermissibility.’’

Shaykh ‘Abdul Azeez Muhaddise Dehlaviعَلَيْهرَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی mentions in Tuhfa Isna ‘Ashariya, ‘’not doing something is onething, but to prohibit is something else.’’

(Tuhfa Isna ‘Ashariya, 10thchapter, Pg. 269)

It is mentioned in Fat-hul Qadeer by Muhaqqiq ‘Alal Itlaaq, regarding the issue of performing 2 Rak’aat Nafl Salaah after the Azaan and before the Jamaat of Maghrib, ‘’this is not proven from Rasoolullaahصَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم and from the Sahaabahعَلَيْهِمُ الرِّضْوَان, the maximum one can prove is that it is not Mustahab. As far as Karaahat (disliking) is concerned, that would not be proven. To prove Karaahat, one has to establish another proof of Karaahat.’’

(Fat-hul Qadeer, Baabun Nawaafil, printed by Matboo’ah Nooriya Razviyya, Sakhar, Pakistan)

From these blessed Aayaat and Ahaadees and Aqwaal of great ‘Ulama, it is clearly understood that this so-called principle, “if something is not mentioned in the Quran or Hadees, it is prohibited or impermissible,” is not an Islamic Sharee’ah based argument, it is a ‘man made law’, and is invalid in Sharee’ah.

Therefore, since Meelaad, Gyaarwee and some other practices of the Ahlus Sunnah, which are not mentioned in the Quran and Hadees are indeed permissible, because they are not prohibited. The one who asks for proofs from Quran and Hadees for these practices, is totally ignorant of the rules of Sharee’ah.

(Summarised and derived from Fataawa Razaviyya,Vol. 7, Pg. 581-583)

Have you shared this information with your contacts?

This is not just an attack on the Wahhaabees, this is actually to empower Sunni Muslims. If the Sunni Muslims can remember this single argument, then no Wahhaabi will ever be able to argue with them. By sharing this we can change the mind sets. These few lines can cause huge trouble in the camps of thosewho regard every Sunni asa kaafir and mushrik.

I challenge all Wahhaabees/Deobandies/Salafies etc., who claim that if something is not mentioned in the Quran or Hadees, or it is not traced from the practices of the Sahaabah عَلَيْهِمُ الرِّضْوَان, then it is Haraam. They must prove the very same claim/rule from the Glorious Quran, blessed Hadees or practices of the Illustrious Sahaabahعَلَيْهِمُ الرِّضْوَان. Which Aayaat,Hadees orSahaabi mentions this rule? If they die a thousand times and are reborn a thousand times, they will never be able to prove this, because it is not a rule of Sharee’ah, it is a ‘Wahhaabi made rule.’ Please educate the Muslim Ummah and forward this message to all your contacts.

    Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ and His Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم know best.

    Asalamalykum,

Some people are objecting to praying other durood shareefs because they state that only Durood e Ibrahim is recited during salat. Therefore, that is the one that should be recited when reciting durood shareef

How would I respond to this?

    JazakAllah
