Yes.....but as many people know....everything is contextually specific. Like you or some other bro/sis mentioned in a previous thread somewhere and indeed on this thread, it's controlling what you view and how you view it........etc etc.

The emphasis on this clip is a reality check moreso for parents to keep tabs and control over children and how quite rightly, if mis-used/over-used for want of a better word...the TV can and is one of the biggest Fitna of our times!

    :)

  2. fantastic little clip by prof. sahib --so so true.
    thanks SA01!

however, it is a bit rich to tell people not to have TVs and then allow your speeches to be filmed and produced on DVD and streamed online. How will people watch it unless they own a TV set or a computer?!

  4. Bro it's a tv channel. You have to make some allowances for the diktats of the medium. If pardah is so important to you then switch the tv off or throw it out and smash it.

An islamic channel should adhere to islamic values which are dictated by the sharia. Also as pointed out the ulama on qtv are staunch followers of ala Hazrat 'alyhirahma and therefore object to a lot of aspects with qtv such as music and the flagrant disregard for parda

  6. all the ulama and muftis of qtv agree that it is haram, they have no say on how the channel is run, in terms of the un islamic adverts and the haraam act of women reading naats on tv. they are not in control of these things.

it is strange that you have the name hayaa but speak against it.

i've been really impressed by Moulana Imran attari may allah preserve him. Never seen him before but his speeches are to teh point re the current climate and free mixing. May Allah save DI from haasideen but they are without doubt the true flag bearers of maslak-eAla hazrat 'alyhi rahma.

Hopefully some English content will be added and we'll have the near perfect Sunni Channel.

  9. i agree madni channel is really good everyone should watch it. It is really professional and 100% no free mixing, no women wearing make up and reciting naats, no music, no bad mazhab wahhabis, deobandies, shias minhajis tahiris etc. just all tableegh of the ahl e sunnat wa jamaat

dawate islami are our saviours people need to support them more rather than give excuses for those that support the bad mazhab and sulla kulli people like minhaj ul Quran tahiri

the reality is there is a lot of fitna brodacst on our "islamic channels" namely the issue of women appearing on screen on a manner which is anything but modest. QTV is guilty but so is Noor TV. I think it's worse on Noor tv considering an 'alim is supposedly overseeing the channel.

However Sunnis should rejoice at the face that we now have a proper islamic channel in the form of Madni Channel. Wallahi i've been watching the test transmission and can safely say this will benefit viewers far more than Noor. Also viewers are spared the the blaring Turkish music and women asppearing on screen. I also would like to make clear i have no affilition with dawate Islami but credit should be given where it's due. Also there's a lot more focus on the basics and rectifying oneself. Inshallah it will serve as a useful resource for generations to come.

I don't need reminding bro....really. Perhaps you need to adopt a less aggressive and 'matter of fact' attitude towards some posts...no? I mean, not everything is as clear-cut to people as you make out.

    CHILLAX :)

Many women/sisters do. Fact is, many women are being influenced in a very positive way through such viewing, igniting a deep desire and affection towards the Praise of Ya Rasulallah Salallahu Alaihi wasallam. Often, they are picking up beautiful prose which they in turn use and recite within mehfils within their own homes.

Surely, we should concentrate on the positives that come out of this, rather than portraying women in such a negative light......I thought that was the job of non-Muslims?

And on a another point.......media is an extremely influential medium. But also one that gives a lot of choice, agency and autonomy to the individual......if one doesn't like something, switch channels :)

By the way, I am not disputing the contents of Shariah na-uzubillah, I do not possess that ilm to do so......just stating that there are different perspectives and contextually specific arguments that should be considered before women, once again, are put in the grinding mill.

Just my thoughts. No offence intended.

The sisters and alimas on qvt are doing a good job guiding women. Why don't you say anything about the women singing and dancing on the other channels or the sisters who are going far from Islam on the streets? Some of them are the daughters of mosque committees. I don't know what you are talking about if you are ignoring the real fitnas which we see as soon as you step outside.

The alims and alimas on that channel have more knowledge than you and would not allow it if they thought it was wrong. You probably didn't know but Owais Qadri is an alim and always speaks good of the sisters. Same with Mufti Abu Bakr Siddique.

I disagree with you. Do you prefer the sisters who go to the Deobandi school in South Africa?
