Focussing on the words in the video and nothing else ... I'm interested to know what other users think?

    1. how did you interpret Shaykh Abdal Hakim's words?

    2. do you agree with AbdalQadir's claims that he said we should unite with Kaafirs?

AbdalQadir, I watched the video and I never ever heard him say that we should unite with kaafirs???

You've misinterpreted his words, he was saying we should have a softer outlook with non-muslims who we encounter on a daily basis. We should actually reach out to them rather than portray them as evil sinful people.

If you have the gift of Imaan and truly understand the concept of 'La Ilaha Illallah' then naturally you would want to spread and share the same understanding to others who are unaware.

Rather than boycott people and create a barrier between you and them, if the open-hearted approach was adopted more and more people would be attracted and want to benefit and proactively seek the religion.

There are numerous Hadiths where our Beloved Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam reached out to non-muslims and adopted a soft and tender approach. So much so that this benevolent attitude continued even in the face of provocation.

Excellent video thanks for sharing! :D

Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad was alluding to the Sunnah of our Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam described below. Some of us try to follow this Sunnah (and get abused) whilst others focus on claiming that only their brand of Islam is right and so focus on correcting others from within:

An old woman who opposed the teachings of Prophet Muhammad [IMG] made a habit of throwing rubbish on him whenever he passed by her house! Prophet Muhammad [IMG] had to pass by that house daily as it was on his way to the mosque. Even though this incident became a daily occurrence, he would pass silently without showing any anger or annoyance.
One day when the Prophet [IMG] was passing by he noticed the woman wasn’t standing there waiting to throw the rubbish on him. Wondering why, he stopped and asked her neighbour about her well-being. The neighbour informed the Prophet [IMG] that the woman was sick in bed. The Prophet [IMG] politely asked permission to visit the woman. When allowed he entered the house. The woman thought that he had come to take his revenge when she was unable to defend herself because of her ill health. But the Prophet [IMG] assured her that he had come to her, not to take any revenge, but to see her and to look after her needs, because it is the command of Allah (swt) that if anyone is sick, a Muslim should visit the person and should help them if help is needed. The old woman was greatly moved by the kindness and love shown by the Prophet [IMG]. By this simple gesture of kindness she understood that he was truly the Prophet of God and Islam was the true religion. She accepted Islam and became a Muslim.

Now how would we have reacted to this woman’s abuse? Why is there a world of a difference in how we react when the Prophet [IMG] is insulted to how the Prophet [IMG] himself reacted when he was insulted or abused?
