From an objective perspective, the Jamia al-Karam syllabus is quite comprehensive and is, in my findings, far broader than any of the more well-known and established institutions of Dars Nizami in this country; the course is better structured than the deo Darul Ulooms as well, I'm pleased to say. The course is for 6 years (foundation 3 years & advance 3 years). You can contact them for a comprehensive information pack, which I found to be most helpful when I was conducting my research. In terms of contents, core sciences are taught in full or in great depth, such as Sarf, Nahw, Fiqh, Arabic Literature and Hadith, whilst other subjects are taught to a satisfactory level, for instance, Philosophy, Arabic Rhetoric, Logic, Principle of Hadith and so on.

The Dawat e Islami places of study can be found far and wide. Their course was 8 years the last time I checked it and, at least in their Midlands' branches (Birmingham etc) teaching is conducted in English. 8 years may seem long but I don't think their syllabus is overly packed; I think it's merely a case of the texts being spread across an additional year or two... Alhamdulillah, everything is free of charge from teaching to lodging. Contact Shaykh Qamar Ilyas Attari Sahib, who is a teacher of Dars Nizami in the Midlands at a newly built DI institution of study. They will be more than happy to facilitate you, inshallah.

Other institutions that offer boarding: Sultan Bahu Trust, Suffa tul-Islam (Bradford), Darul Qurra.

Institutions worth trying (no accommodation provided) include:

Ghamkol Sharif: Mufti Sahib from Pakistan there teaches traditional books and is an accomplished teacher. You will have to arrange 1-1 sessions I assume, as I am unaware of any scheduled classes with them currently.

Jamatia Centre, Birmingham: course designed by Shaykh Asrar Rashid Sahib and taught by himself and a few other teachers, including Qazi Sajid Zafar Hussain Sahib, who is another well educated scholar. Lessons are taught in both Urdu and English, mainly the former.

I have mentioned the above only because, to me, they all have a few things in common. They all have long syllabi (longer than your run if the mill 2-3 year course) and they have all incorporated tried and tested books from the classical and traditional syllabus of study. The teachers involved are also worth studying under.

I have a thread over on another of our forums where a list of our places of study and teachers is available. I am in the process of considering whether I should transfer the contents of it on here as well.

Where in the UK do you live? Your location is of course very important.

Do you wish to study full time or part-time?

How will you fund your studies or are you looking for free education (as most of us do, for obvious reasons)?

Do you have any people or children dependent on you?

How long of a duration do you realistically want to devote to your studies?

Are you willing to travel and/or live away from home?

I think I managed to compile some 40 or so scholars and institutions. I received a lot of help from other forum members and thus I believe it is a broad list covering most areas up and down the country. Alhamdulillah, there are many scholars to study with but answering the questions above will contribute to locating the select few who would suit you more than others for practicality and perhaps even preference.

Asalamualaikum all I'm new to this forum

I was wondering good places to study Dars E Nizami, where the quality of teaching is to high standard. There are some institutes but they are like 2-3 years and you become an Aalim, the calibre they are producing not very impressive and these are sadly our own sunni institutes, they dont even teach books cover to cover, I don't want to mention names but they are some I know of, for example they do not even teach Mukhtasar al Quduri cover to cover skipping so many parts of it in some cases teaching english translations. If you brothers, have any suggestions of places or mudaris you know of or would recommend to study with.

    JazakAllah
