AbdalQadir time to move along! will check pm's.

'like' or 'dislike' or 'good' or 'bad' posts are sometimes (not always) just relative terms dependent on groupie culture or the opinions one follows. one of the evils of democracy that we don't realize is that it renders every opinion as equally qualified. just a general comment.

The downside is that you will have the trolls disliking the good posts!

there should be a 'dislike' button to vote down spurious posts without having to write another post to express disagreement. and if possible a 'disgusted' button too.

brother take it easy. i don't think anybody accused you of stalking (though someone might have implied). but you called him names first.

just be polite with them and they will reciprocate. if you had a specific purpose of starting a thread, and someone was diverting it, you could have simply asked him or even requested us to split it. what you did instead was calling him names, and were rude to him. hence the response. if you are willing to be nice, i am sure others will be nice too. don't you see, even gollum can be nice if others are nice with them.

Shaykh Abu Hasan, what i found unfair was the accusation of stalking someone, among others made by different people. i dont care who wants to block whosoever.

in sha Allah, from now onwards, i will be mature and knowledgeable.

you deserve the right to call him a monkey but you find it unfair that he wants to block you.

i don't know if you have an axe to grind with unbeknown, but know that i chose him to be a moderator because his replies are far far mature and knowledgeable than yours, even though he is a newcomer compared to your posts.

it was a light hearted comment not aimed at anyone :)

I don't seriously endorse banning an individual for personal reasons!

Brother Aqdas, i believe this is all unfairly and unnecessarily pointing at me. i do not stalk anyone and neither do i have time to stalk any muppet.

do you mean 'should not' because they're supposed to keep an eye on people - or do you mean that it's not possible due to the way the forum software works?

Because it's working fine for me - the individual's post disappear from the threads not started by him - it just says at the bottom of the page 'show ignored content' - clicking which, I presume, the posts will become visible.

For threads started by the him, his name is replaced by 'ignored member' (I like that) and if you click on the thread everyone's but his posts are invisible and right at the top it says, in the message-box next to his name, "you have chosen to ignore this member'.

sorry to dampen your enthusiasm, moderators cannot use this feature.

I just discovered a use for this wonderful forum feature - in your account settings there's an option called 'People you ignore' - just click this and enter the name of any childish person who's annoying you with his mindless posts and hey presto! all his posts become invisible to you.

So far as you are concerned he might not even exist!

That's the easiest way to block out a stalker and no harm done.

A big thanks to all moderators for this lovely feature. :)

    wassalaam.

i don't know if this is a feature or a bug, but on this thread it says to me

i just wanted to reply to abu hasan's this comment - dunno if it was aimed at my avatar, but that's the first picture i found on my desktop when i felt i needed to make an avatar, so i just went with it. it's unbaked sweets before they were organized and placed in the oven, on Baqreed 1435 hijri year. it ain't left overs :)

you like the absence of coloured boxes OR you (previously) liked the coloured boxes which are now absent?

the former (i.e the current style) cause I feel its less taxing to the eye and helps to focus on the text.

what about inbox and sent items? you don't see them?

I can see them now but was unable to (or perhaps missed) when I wrote the above.

    wassalaam.

oh, i hadn't noticed it until now. good catch.

xenforo has scores of addons; apparently the TAZ review says that 30 addons is average, while the reviewer himself mentions using 75 addons.
we have so far only 3 add-ons.

    Salaam brothers

    Well done the admin.

    Its brilliant.

One small suggestion, is it possible to bring back how many posts each user as done and when they registered under their name, when posting in a thread.

Other than that cant think of much you seem to have all bases covered.
