Hazir: He is present and alive, can travel to anywhere he wants with permission of Allah

Nazir: He is watching everything that happens in the world with permission of Allah

I like the way you bring quotations from books of ulamas and in depth explanations, was hoping you could do the same for this topic too inshaAllah

By we I mean Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamah, by the understanding I mean that the Prophet SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam is Hazir Nazir, I have no problem, just want to know which Tafseers mention the same, I am trying to learn and so I can easily quote which Imam and which Tafseer say such and such, I thought that was the point of this forum, to learn?

    "same understanding as we have"

    1. who is we?
    2. and what is that understanding of that 'we'?
    3. whatever that understanding is; what is your problem?

Tarjumah Kanz ul Iman: Herald of the Hidden! We have indeed sent you as an 'OBSERVING PRESENT WITNESS' and a Herald of glad tidings and warning [Ahzab 33:45]

    1. RasulAllah Alayhisalam have been sent as a mercy to the whole of creation including all of the UMMAH til Qiyamat.
    2. RasulAllah Alayhisalam are witness over the whole UMMAH including us and everyone that will come til Qiyamat.

Can anyone expand on this? What is the criteria in Islam for one to be accepted as a witness - doesn't he need to be hazir nazir?

  8. The Prophet [May Allah bless him and grant him peace] stated:

"My life is a great good for you, you will relate about me and it will be related to you, and my death is a great good for you, your actions will be presented to me (in my grave) and if I see goodness I will praise Allah, and if see other than that I will ask Allah for your forgiveness."(Al Bazzar from Ibn Masud graded Sahih)

All this implies, that the Prophet [May Allah bless him and grant him peace] is Hadhir/Nadhir over our actions.

Hafidhh Ibn Kathir writes: On the Day of Judgment, the Prophet [May Allah bless him and grant him peace] will be a witness over our actions and the actions of the previous Ummahs. Even the Ummah of the Prophet [May Allah bless him and grant him peace] will bear witness to the fact that the previous Prophets conveyed the message of Allah Soobha Nahu Wata'la to their respective Ummahs. To this, the people from the previous Ummahs will say: ‘How can they testify when they were not present at that time?’ The Ummah of the Prophet [May Allah bless him and grant him peace] will reply: ‘We were informed by our Prophet [May Allah bless him and grant him peace] that the previous messengers had all conveyed the message from Allah Soobha Nahu Wata'ala.’ Then RasoolAllah [May Allah bless him and grant him peace] will himself bear witness to the fact that all the Prophets before him had conveyed their message from Allah Soobha Nahu Wata'ala to their respective Ummahs. [Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Surah Baqarah, under verse 143]

Which of the Tafseers explain the verses where Allah describes His Habeeb SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam as witness as seeing the actions of the ummah and same understanding that we have? JazakAllah Khair

  10. The Holy Prophet is connected to all of His Ummah (Peace and Blessings be Upon Him). He witnesses their actions which are presented to Him, he replies to each Salaam that is sent which includes during the Prayer and can view whatever he likes in the universe as well a travel where He likes in physical or spiritual form. Hazir Nazir thus relates to His Spiritual power, His Witnessing and connection to us all (Peace and Blessings be Upon Him). Allah Knows Best

Ja Al Haq also says this:

Under the first ayah at the bottom Mufti Saab Rahmatullah Alayh says that the Sun is everywhere in every house and since the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam is described as Sirajum Muneer then they are also present everywhere.

Under the fourth ayah Hakeem ul Ummat Rahmatullah Alayh says that Muslims are everywhere in the world so Huzoor Sallalllahu Alayhi wa Sallam is also present everywhere in the world.

Mufti Saab Rahmatullah Alayh also says Huzoor Alayhis Salam is present everywhere under the fifth ayah, the same is repeated under seventh ayah.

Are there any other Ulama from the past that interpreted these ayaat as such or is it only Hakeem ul Ummat Rahmatullah Alayh who has done so?

    Assalamu Alaykum,

I am confused as to what Hazir Nazir means since I have read that it does not mean the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam is present everywhere and is in his Rawda Shareef and sees everything from there and can travels where he wishes whilst in other places like Ja Al Haq I have read that the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam is actually everywhere, Hakeem ul Ummat did provide his explanation of certain ayaat to prove this but there was no mention of the Tafaseer of previous Ulama like there was for Ilm e Ghayb.

So if anyone could clarify what is the actual Aqeedah of Ahlus Sunnah and also provide other Ulama who interpreted Ayaat like Hakeem ul Ummat did, JazakAllahu Khair.
