Walaikum as Salaam Focus on what is of certainty and what you are sure of. The rest assume its fine. General rule, not difficult to administer
As salamu alaikum The Ayat is comforting With regards to waswasa, I have been told the sinful waswasa (obeying Shaitan) is one act of ibadat after a fresh wudhu, thereafter fresh wudhus are not sinful. Also one of our attributes as insaan is forgetfulness hence it is possible to forget between the time of one salah to the next. eg between Zohr and Asr. Totally be unable to recollect the state of wudhu, hence assume we have one Also I read Imam Ahmad Raza (or someone similar) ordered someone to redo years of salah because they were unknowingly missing something from the salah. This has put doubt into whether the spirit of the ayat is applied in these cases
And there is no sin on you if you make a mistake therein, except in regard to what your hearts deliberately intend. And Allah is Ever Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (33:5) @Alf, firstly change your name Secondly, doubts that are healthy leading to questions that improve you are ok. Doubts that cause harm are NOT. The brother asked a question and began with "if you do not remember" so that's where you just say "waswasa" and ignore it. Allahu Alam
Will you say the same for matters other than wudu? What about doubts regarding buying/selling( doubts regarding sale being invalid, fasid, etc)? or doubts about wealth and its source? Are we suppose to assume it is halal in case of doubts?
Pure waswasa If you do not remember anything that broke your Wudu then you have Wudu, simple. Don't go into these sort of areas brother because the devil is playing with you due to your sincerity perhaps telling you to go to extraordinary lengths to check everything. Ignore him, do your best and do enough to get you to a leave this earth happy. Ask those whose lives are affected with these sorts of questions what happens to them. TRUST ME, THIS IS A SLIPPERY SLOPE, ONE WHICH YOU MUST AVOID.
As Salamu Alaikum You have no memory of your Wudhu breaking after previous Salah (but it is broken) so you do not have wudhu but to best of ones memory they believe the wudhu to be intact What is the status/acceptability of Salah prayed in this state?
