he is implying that the Khutbah of Jumuah was being given while sitting on the mimbar. it needs clarification. as for standing up for the ahle-baith, it is a sign of our love and respect for the nobility.
سبحان الله The greatest man in this ummah by ijma'a, Abu Bakr Siddiq stands for Imam Hasan! Ya RasulAllah ﷺ! What a rank Imam Hasan has! And why not when RasulAllah ﷺ declared: this son of mine is a Sayyid. And Siddiq? And Umar and Uthman? Mawla Ali stood behind them for 43,000 prayers over 24 years! Sahabah stand for Ahl al-Bayt and Ahl al-Bayt stand behind them in salah! That's why Ahlu's Sunnah say: Ahl e sunnat ka hai beyra paar ashab e Huzur Najm hain aur nao hai itrat RasulAllah ki (ﷺ) رضي الله عنهم
The following report is transmitted by al-Khatīb in his Tārikh and Ibn Ḥajar al-`Asqalānī in his al-Iṣābah and al-Dhahabī in his Sīyar ā`lām al-Nubalā. They have also explicitly declared it Ṣaḥīḥ, i.e., pristinely authentic report. Here it is quoted from the wahābī favourite al-Dhahabī:... Imam Ḥusayn went to see Hazrat `Umar ibn Khaṭṭāb and saw him sitting on the pulpit. He said to him, get off the mimbar of my father and go sit on the mimbar of your father! Hazrat `Umar said that my father had no mimbar and then sat Imam Husayn beside him. (Since Imam Ḥusayn was a child) Hazrat `Umar said where did you learn that? Imam Ḥusayn said no one taught me this. Then Amīr al-Mu’minīn `Umar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb pointed to his head and said: My son these hair on my head grew because of Allah and then you (ahl al-bayt)!!....Now, according to Hazrat `Umar al-Farūq the cause of blessings and honour upon him was due to Allah (swt) and ahl al-bayt (as)....so is Hazrat `Umar committing shirk?
