If truth be told this debate was quite galling, both parties were unnecessarily jeering at each others throats, and what was disconcerting was that it seemed to have been provoked from the sunni side.I don't know why Mufti Aslam was being stubborn not to addressing the other points (even though they (Deo) were pulling references out of context to fit their framework, they were doing a good job at cromulent vindication; which is a danger to the common listener). As a bystander, the whole debate was a mess and to be honest a waste of time, a good 3 hours or so, for both parties. It is know that in UK/US debate compendium, if the proponent fails to rebuttal the points made by the initial debater/ and or detractor , he has lost the debate. But still in this scenario I feel that Mufti sahib, was just yelling and shouting ostentatiously the same point over and over. Its already understood that they have failed to make a declaration of kufr on the statment, so they have lost on that point. Now the next 2 hours should have been utilized in addressing all the points made by the Deo's as to clear all accusations they made on the Salaf, quoting Imam Shafi, Imam Suyuti, Abu Hanifa, Imam Subki, to justify their "kufr."
