What does the ........... issue tell us?

It took ulama months, their time, money and effort, and still the issue is unresolved.

Can we do this for every issue that arises? No. We don't have the resources.

So ulama shouldn't unreservedly criticise Facebook refutations. Often, they're the only way.

Issues arise every other day. Can ulama hold such meetings for every one of them? No.

Can Sunnis be tasked with contacting the concerned parties every time? No. There are too many to do that.

So what tools do we have? Social media is one.

Public wrongs will get publicly criticised. Contact isn't necessary every time. If the criticised person(s) feel they are wrongly criticised, let them say so publicly. After all, it was their own public act that caused the refutation.

We can't cry that we got refuted on the internet. We live in a different world now.

the problem is the speed with which content is being created and disseminated.
unlike 20-30 years ago, 'viral' posts spread like wildfire and if not refuted it becomes the new normal.

    ---
if ulama want to sit by and wait for proofs by writing to them, waiting for their response and then act, it will take ages; and by the time a studied response is out, much content will have flowed down the wire...

    ---
when heresy is published in instant communication, we ought to refute instantly.

the point is that if we do not accept social media videos and audios as a sufficient proof to refute or pass judgements, all the vile rascals will just keep posting on the media and stay "protected and unharmed" - because no one wanted to pass a decree.

the onus of proving that he did not say it should be on the accused, because basically it was he who chose the social media to spread his message.

We are in 2017, not 1017. We are no longer in an age where fitnahs were few and far between. There is a new fitnah every other day and it is exacerbated by social media.

It is not possible for us to make contact with every person whom we perceive to have committed heresy/misguidance etc. We simply don't have the time or energy to. Like I said, there's a new one that surfaces every other day.

When we see that something is public and is against the methodology of Ahlu's Sunnah, it will be refuted publicly. If anyone has issues with the refutation, they may state it.

We will refute it. If people feel the refuted person(s) should have been asked to clarify first, please go ahead. YOU contact them. YOU ask them. YOU get a clarification. Then post it.

Thereafter, we will decide if it's a satisfactory clarification.

Basically, those who are irked, the onus is upon them to make contact with the accused parties.
