The Hadith sharif lists 4 things and appears to place them all independently in the same category. There is no dispute in three while one is differed over?

This does not appear to be what is stated in the Hadith Sharif? Is this your own understanding or have you taken this from someone else, if so, who and is it possible to provide a further explanation. I am keen to understand how you came to this conclusion.

perhaps not, but here we're addressing his position on samā'á with mazamīr & nothing more, whether he is displeased with x y and z practices in gatherings is another discussion.

Mufti e Azam e Hind has stated that its Haram but he does not label them as fasiq. (This was mentioned in another thread; and I checked out the reference provided too)

The qawwali which takes place these days at many places, ustadh ul kull would certainly not be happy with that.

sometimes, even a mountain of irrefutable proofs will be incapable of penetrating a heart which inclines towards its whimsical desires, & we have seen it time & time again, the main 'participants' in these gatherings are clean shaven, toes in the air sajdah goers [both in the sub-continent & in the UK]. trying to explain the issue to these people is like talking to a brick wall.

a second batch of people are students of knowledge who acknowledge the dispute & accept the differences but incline towards the position of other úlema'a like áţā muhammad bandylāvī who held the position that samā'a with mazamīr is permissible [nobody questions sayyidī ustādh al-úlemā'a's scholarly credentials].

    With that in mind:

1] is there any harm in them doing so? especially considering the fact that it is matter of fiqh & taqlīd in such matters is valid.

  7. Those musical instruments that are associated with haram actions like dancing females, drinking alcohol. Hence there would have been a blanket fatwa from everyone without any exception that ALL MUSIC IS HARAAM WITHOUT EXCEPTION. Of course we know this is not true. Again I say if the default ruling is Haram in all circumstances why was it allowed under some circumstances even if there are conditions? This you cannot answer except that you must admit that it cannot always be haram.

Prove this please. I will accept if you can show me. JazaAllah Khair

“Verily amongst my nation (ummah) will be those who will deem permissible the female’s private part (fornication), silk, khamr (alcohol) and musical instruments" (Bukhari, Musnad Imam Ahmad, Sunan Abi Dawood and Ibn Maajah)

Musical instruments are haraam as a general rule otherwise Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would not have said that people will deem it halaal, otherwise there are exceptions such as beating the daff such as on Eid, weddings etc and even then only by females.

  10. My understanding on the issue is that all Narrations on the subject that prohibit music is in relation to music being accompanied by Haraam, leads to Haraam and is refering to music in Haram environments where unlawful vice is prominent.
The other point being that if music by itself was Haram under all circumstances as a default then it would not have been permitted at all but this is not true. There are Mashur Narrations on certain instances where certain instruments were permitted.

the issue aside, these types of questions do not prove anything and the truth is that they are easily answered. Let's stick to fatawa rather than resort to our personal justifications.

Are instruments prohibited by nature or is it the circumstances that surround them?

For example, when the angel blows the trumpet for yawm al-qiyamah, is it committing a haram act?
Or when the sahaba suggested the bell, drum and horn for the azan, did they suggest haram instruments?

So what if qawwali happens at darbars? Many other things happen at darbar like women going there and mixing with men, also not dressed properly either, are you going to say that is ok too because it happens at darbar? Some people do tawaaf and do sajdah of darbar, is that allowed now too?

You are correct, it has been around the block a few times but ...

Is this really your proof for permissibility?

Did Sultaanul Hind (RadiAllahu Anhu) use musical instruments? Where is your daleel for that?

If you use this as your proof (in reference to his [Pir Sayyidi Mehr Ali (RadiAllahu Anhu)] bio - though it's not his official bio) then what was his stance on the issue prior to his wisaal? Why did he then stop listening to samaa with musical instruments (as per the same bio)?

On a side note, what is the reason for the Qadiyanis being the biggest fitna of their time?

This issue has been round the block enough times nevertheless I will go with Pir Syed Mehr Ali Shah Sahib's ra rulings. Also if you look at all the big major Darbaars ie Ajmir Shareef,Data Darbaar,Bari imam etc etc Quwali is allowed. On a side note Hazarat Khawaja Gharib Nawaz (ra) converted 90 lakh kafirs into Muslims, would you doubt their teachings I DON'T THINK SO.Would you doubt Pir Mehr Ali Shah Sahib (ra) teachings who took on the biggest Fitna of their time the Qaydianis,I DON'T THINK SO

I've just been watching a debate about music on Islam Channel. A Dr Usama Hasan gave many proofs showing that it is allowed.

There was a Wahabi who was against this named Abdurrehman Dimishqi. He said that Hanafis allowed some kinds of alchohol. I have a question, did Hanafis say this? Can someone check and tell me.

Hazrat Pir Mehr Ali Shah RA permitted Qawwali in it's truest form. There is a difference of opinion within the Ahle Sunnat. If Qawwali reaches the heart and gives you a spiritual lift I see no harm.
