AbdalQadir time to move along! will check pm's.

For all practical intents and purposes, I find him to be a token Sunni. He talks in vague language even about principles, let alone personalities. His so called chastisement of that idiot Hassan Haseebur Rehman is a prime example, notwithstanding his cacophonous ramblings during the Jalali-khata issue, or his copy paste fatwa from bin Bayyah, Jifry etc al permitting people to wish christians merry christmas. He's just ruthlessly focused on his own "career" in Islam. Just my opinion.

As for Muzaffar Shah sahab, yes it is commendable for him to stand in honor of the Sahaba, and that would even possibly reinforce his right to be against Jalali's stance, but still nothing can justify his arrest and all these ulema should have stood up for him.

Abdulhaq sahab was also eerily silent all throughout the Jalali-khata fiasco afaik.

Plus I don't like or appreciate Kaukab Noorani or his gimmicks anymore. He too was seated on a sofa at the back of the trailer. Another career focused Sunni.

Anyways these are the leaders Pakistani Sunnis have for now and they have to make best use of them. Alhamdulillah at least they stood up for Sayyiduna Ameer Mu3awiyah and the Sahaba radi Allahu 3anhum.

I think in the intro what syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah says about syeds sitting with Tafdhlis is an indirect reference to Syed Irfan Shah. That is how I interpreted it but won't see a direct refutation because of the family links.

What is telling is that Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah has not sat in any of Syed Irfan Shah's mehfils after and including that 'infamous' Narawol conference. I don't think Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah supports Syed Irfan Shah's stance and recent behaviour but obviously does not support Jalali Sahib's statement either; which is fair enough.

I agree with @AbdalQadir that Sunnis like Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman should have been more vocal about the arrest of Jalali Sahib. Some Rafzis barking is not the same as one of our prominent Sunni scholars being unjustly locked up. The latter is a lot worse for the Sunnis

I was told (and so is the title of the video) that this piece of the rally was in reference to Irfan Shah

Personally, I feel it is just too vague and generic. It's good advice against jahil pirs yes, but please don't call it a bebaag refutation or chastisement of Irfan Shah, coz it's not! They didn't even mention cussing or swearing or filmi dialogs and such things employed by Irfan Shah. The Urdu says teenon ulamae kiram ne Haq ada kar Diya... Allahu a3lam.

    Others have any differing opinions?

As an aside, where/when in the rally was there a defense of the mazloom Sunnis arrested by the establishment - Dr Jalali and others? If we are letting the mazloom Sunnis rot in jail, then these things are pointless, no?
