To be fair, has the shaykh even said this? It's probably more likely that a bunch of people on twitter misunderstood what he said as opposed to anything else. I doubt very highly this is actually the shaykh's opinion

  2. I understand this from UFC and it sounds pretty satanic:

Your employed by someone to entertain by fighting in a cage - entertaining for the masses and for money.
It's a blood sport and cruel carrying no benefit and is purely watched to satiate people's blood lust or lust for violence.
the risk of injury is so high that almost after every fight a medical commission disallows fighters for a set duration to fight (for months, showing the extent of the injuries).
Many fights due to the build up appear to be fought based on rivalry and hatred rather than a sporting, health intentioned spirit to compete.
The sport is so dangerous that fighters are injured during training (regularly)
    It's fought in a "cage"

I wonder how anyone can even wonder about its Fiqh status.

From what I read on twitter they say that sh asrar said boxing isn't allowed for Amir Khan because he has a glass jaw.

But it is allowed for khabib because he makes Islam look good and is doing jihad.

Regardless of whether khabib style is wrestling heavy, he still has to train and employ striking methods in the cage and even if he didn't, he would be open to receiving strikes to the head himself so not sure how that would be halal.

He additionally has done the sport for a long time before Connor opened his mouth so what was his excuse before and after that one particular fight?

What about the presence of ring girls, gambling, and other unlawful aspects of MMA- have they suddenly become halal for khabib too?

What about the fact that the fight against Conor resulted in him making millions of dollars? Sure, he would have made a lot of money fighting even a broomstick but fighting khabib put extra money in his pocket and essentially rewarded him for his trash talking, regardless of the outcome of the fight- is helping him make money also defending Islam?

What kind of defence is it anyway to have a refereed bout where you punch the guy/make him tap out and then... What? How did that benefit Islam exactly? Only people it benefited was Khabib and Conor.

Connor, the filthy person that he is, probably insulted Islam only because he was pitted against Khabib for prize bout. Not that Connor has license to commit such act, but what else can be expected of trash-talking dogs?

What's permissible about Khabib's farewell bout against Gaethje?

I don't know about the basis of Shaykh Asrar's fatwa on Khabib, nor do I follow UFC/MMA; but wrestling as a sports is permissible.

The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) challenged Rukana to a wrestling duel. Hazrat Junaid Baghdadi alayhir rahma was a wrestler in his pre-"conversion" days.

Now, wrestling these days requires exposing satr/awrah (namely, navel to knee). Current-day wrestling attire is not permissible.

One can argue that even if Khabib participates in MMA/UFC, he is essentially employing wrestling techniques (unlike other MMA fighters, Khabib relies on subjugation using standard wrestling holds, and is not known for striking face etc.). But at the same time, UFC as a sports (with its fan base, circus etc.) is clearly impermissible and Khabib can't be absolved of the impermissible acts that go with this circus.

Connor insulted Islam. So Khabib knocked him out silly.

So I think Shaykh Asrar meant it for that reason. Otherwise, MMA is haram.

Just visited twitter and lots of trolls are mocking Shaykh Asrar over his fatwa that ufc and mma is haram but halal for Khaabib because he is defending Islam. People are sharing memes of him and placing his face over khabib body.

Is this reliable and would it be permissible to watch his fights?
