    'My mercy encompasses everything...'

The brother should finish the verse. '...and I shall finalise My mercy for those who have taqwa, give zakat and believe in our signs...'

Shaykh Asrar's book Islam Answers Atheism answers this in a great deal of depth in chapter four.

It will be released on Amazon this week.

    السلام عليكم‎

I must preface this by saying I'm not educated in any of the Islamic sciences but do my best to learn as and when I can.

I've been struggling recently and my iman isn't as strong as I'd like it to be. I had been thinking a lot about the afterlife and had some questions about hell if anyone could help out.

I'm not sure as to the validity and grade of the hadith, but I recall hearing it translated as,

Why do people then go to hell forever? How do the two align? How does eternal hellfire fit in with Allah's being the Most Just, the Most Merciful, and with His mercy more than His wrath?

I understand that the transgression against Allah subhana wa ta'ala, and His Beloved are crimes that of the highest degree, but His Mercy of higher order is it not?

Forgive me for being a layman, and uneducated - I don't know of any scholars around me that are Sunni, Ash'ari/Maturidi, sahih aqidah to help me to understand and learn which is why I must ask here.

May Allah forgive me for my own transgressions and ignorance. Please do respond as it will be a great deal for me and I ask you to be kind.

    جزاكم الله خيرًا
