perhaps because they occurred very frequently in the first 6 months that they are given this special status.

it's not dismissing other ru'ya saliHa but showing the importance of these first 6 months.

    Allah knows best.

but our beloved Prophet Muhammad ŞallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam dreamt many ru'ya saliHah throughout his life, why should we exclude his dreams after first revelation upon him ŞallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam?

during the dawra e saHiH bukhari, prof. dr. muHammad tahir ul qadri said that he pondered over one hadith which said that dreams are 1/46th of prophethood. dr. sahib said that he had come up with an explanation of why it's 46th and not 40th or 70th etc.

he said that rasulAllah sallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam saw ru'ya e saliHah for 6 months and our master sallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam stayed 23 years in the world. 6 months is 1/46th of 23 years and this is why dr. sahib thought aaqa sallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam said 1/46th.

i sent dr. sahib a question that if his theory is true, then aaqa sallAllahu 'alaihi wasallam must have known he will demise 23 years after announcement of prophethood because he could not have said with certainty 1/46th unless he knew his year of demise. eg. if he was to demise 24 years after, he would have said 1/48th etc.

it was a shame dr. sahib did not get the time to answer questions because it would have been an interesting answer in terms of sunni 'aqida
