    Question 264
    16 Jumadi al-Ukhra 1338 AH

What do the respected scholars say: is the one who passes away on Thursday saved from punishment every Thursday or forever?

    Answer:
There is no such ruling for Thursdays. However, it is the case for the night preceding Friday, the day of Friday and every day of Ramadan al-Mubarak that whichever Muslim passes away in them, they will be saved from the questions of the grave and punishment. Allah ta'ala is more benevolent than this that He forgives something and then punishes it later.

    And Allah ta'ala knows best.

Translator's note: My Alahazrat رحمه الله himself passed away on a Friday - 25th Safar 1340 AH at 2:38pm when the mu'addhin said, 'hayya ála'l falah' for jumu'ah salah.

My beloved wife passed away on 26th Ramadan 1437 AH with Laylatu'l Qadr being her first night in her grave.
