    uhmmmm!

    Bros NJ and Wadood.

I am relatively new to this site and so am not aware of your 'personal' rivalry/antagonisms etc. But, bro Wadood, you are coming across a bit harsh on Bro NJ.

After all, we are all prone to inquisition, it's the best part of learning. Do you have to be so belittling of each other?? Can't we just keep the ethics around this website going peacefully......Please?

Enough bickering in the world already. But, I may be totally wrong.

Sidi Asif, its seems you cannot read English. However, does not your brain get the idea that there is a possibility for your beautiful 'catholics' to have imitated Islam and its science of tasawwuf in some manner. This is my last post in this thread

all religions have common origin so if hinduism, judeaism, christianity and so on have similarities or resemblences in certain ideas or practices then it just points to common origins. for instance, in Islamic mysticism, we have the notion of 'lataif' which are similar to 'chakras' of hindus. we believe in 'ten commandments' so do the christians.
these arguments are favourite of our salafi/wahabi brothers but it does not work because of slippery slope.

  6. because what you say often doesn't make sense. if catholicism predates islam how could they have borrowed the idea of feast days for saints from us?

i agree the catholic church as an institution has committed horrific crimes in history.

You can never understand what I say. Why is that?

Of course catholicism (romanism. mithraism. slavery) was before Islam, do you think I dont know that?

  8. wadood wasnt catholicism before islam???

Its because they adopted it from us, Sidi Asif, there is no surprise or astonishment for me unfortunately

The catholics, what ever that means, as there are so many other sects among the christians, even different kinds of catholics, took thier spiritual orders 'dominicans', 'franciscans', ' jesuits' etc from us

They took their art, their renaissance, their logic, their living from us
They took their sense of the world from us
They even took our 'misbaha' from us
    So why not feasts?

Why should you feel astounded with those 'man worshippers'. yes Shaykh Nuh Ha Mim Keller calls them 'man worshippers'

I feel sick, when I am around their idolatory. You should feel sick too. They worship some naked man clinging on a cross. We Muslims, Sunnis in particular, had a 1000 year war with those people, remember the inquisition? Sicily? Saracens? Crusades?

These feast celebrating Franks used to barbeque Muslims and eat them in Syria. We gave their people freedom in our lands, how come the chaldean catholics in 'Iraq and the Maronite catholics in Syria survived in their millions within Muslim rule for 1400 years OPENLY?

How come Spain, Sicily, Southern Italy, Corsica, Sardinia, Malta were CLEANSED OFF their Muslim populations?

Can you believe it? Malta is right next to Tunisia, yet, the 400,000 Maltese are ALL CATHOLICS, except for a few converts here and there only today.

Yes. How come right over the border, in Tunisia, there were still 300,000 Christians in the 1920s to 1930s, while just a few miles away in Malta, there were no Muslims?

  10. :s1:

I just recently found out that Catholicism also has an equivalent of the Sunni úrs of saints. They call these Feast Days.

The parallels between traditional islam and catholicism in practise of religion continue to astound me!
