Well btw, I wanted to mention something. My father too was a Mujaahid (when he was around 19yrs. or so as he says), part of Hizb-e-Islami (though now he knows that Hekmatayar was a Jamaati), under the Command of Commander 'Abdul Rasheed. He talks about it often and it is always very interesting o know a first hand experience!
I am currently reading this book and it is a very interesting read as it gives the Soviet-Afghan war from a unique perspective as well as being the memoirs of Sayyid Zaid Zaman Hamid. I don't agree with all of ZH's points of view anymore but this book is really worth reading.
Here is a book launch video on Youtube: (The book is in English but this launch is in Urdu)
