  1. Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for the springing fresh from the word

Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God's recreation of the new day

The above are the lyrics to one of brother Yusuf's most famous songs
back when he was Cat Stevens. Actually the song is a hymn to God the Creator.
Thus, it is not objectionable from an Islamic perspective either but
    a beautiful hamd.
Those who went to school in England will recall singing this in morning

nb: some brothers may object to his use of the words 'feet' since, as
we all know, Allah is pure from all these things. But it is metaphorical
just as the words, 'hands of Allah' are metaphoric in the Koran.

anyway, i felt it is a lovely hamd and poem and thus put it on here.
