2: Amir ul Muminin fil Hadith: Muhaddith al A’zam Shaykh Sayyid Muhammad Ashrafi narrates that once he asked his respected teacher Muhaddith Surati: “What is Ala Hazrat’s status in Ilm al Hadith”. Shaykh ul Muhaddithin replied: “Ala Hazrat is the Amir ul Muminin fil Hadith of this Age”and then asked: “Son, did you understand its meaning?, that is if I become his (AlaHazrat) student the whole of my Life in this field (Ilm ul Hadith) then also I would never reach his weight (status). I said: “It is True, only a Wali can know the real status of Wali”. Shaykh al Muhaddithin was 20 years elder to Imam al Akbar [Ala Hazrat] yet he used to respect and revere Imam al Akbar a lot for his knowledge and piety. Shaykh al Muhaddithin often used to send Questions to Imam al Akbar for answers, one such question is present apart from many others in 'Al Ataya al Nabwiya fi Fatawa al Razwiya' in relation with the Hadiths on the virtues and merits of praying Salah while a wearing a Turban. Imam al Akbar mentions in detail 20 Hadiths with their Isnad and a respectful criticism of Imam Ahmad Ibn Hajr Asqalani (773-852 A.H) regarding the mentioned Hadiths and their Isnad. http://basharathsiddiqui.webnode.in/news/shaykh-al-muhaddithin-allama-wasi-ahmad-muhaddith-naqshbandi-surati-1252-1334-a-h-1836-1915-c-e-/

Muhaddith al Surati rahimahullahu Ta'ala did Istiftaa to Shaykh al Islam Imam Ahmad Rida rahimahullahu Ta'ala
I am sure that Muhhadith e surti said Ala Hazrat's mastery over hadith was greater than his own I read it in the preface of Sunni Bahisti Zewar
i have just heard on madani channel that someone close to muhaddith surati said: tarawih is when the qur'an is recited and if there was tarawih of hadith, only muhaddith surati could lead it. this shows his mastery of hadith.
if you are using xp* and above (uh..er...vista? ain't it dead yet?) add the arabic language and you can type arabic within the browser itself. it is fairly a simple trick and sometimes you might be asked for the source files (i386 folder or the installation cd) and a couple of restarts. you can then switch the languages on the fly using keyboard shortcuts. [left shift+ left alt is commonly used and is the default]. speaking of browsers...seen chrome yet? -- *and if you are using linux, you probably know how to enable arabic already; but still: http://gr33ndata.blogspot.com/2006/01/writing-arabic-on-ubuntu.html
dear nj: i type it in ms word 2003 go to insert then symbol. use basic arabic, arabic extended, arabic presentation forms-A, arabic presentation forms-B then you copy 'n' paste onto sunniport
another variation, in al-malfuz al-sharif translated by mawlana abdu'l hadi: اﻟاسدّ اﻟاسعدّ اﻟاشد اﻟارشد he translates it: The Lion - most excellent and a powerful guide
the way it was written in mawlana zafar ud din bihari's article was like this اسد الاسد الاشد الارشد but in fatawa ridawiyyah, vol.16, p.202, it's like this الاسد الاسد الاشد looks like a typo
masha Allah. there is not enough about muhaddith surati in english [don't know about urdu]. if anyone can find anything in urdu, please post it here [scan it in] and it shall be translated. after all, mawlana surati is the teacher of giants such as mawlana amjad 'ali a'zmi and muhaddith e a'zam sayyid muhammad kichauchwi
asad al-asadd al-ashadd al-arshad. when read: asadu'l asadd al-ashaddu'l arshad. asad - (sans shaddah) - lion al-asadd - (with shaddah) - upright, correct, on the right path, one who is straight. from sadeed; the straight, right thing. as Allah sub'Hanahu wa ta'ala says: O Muslims be upright and straight when you speak. al-ashadd - extreme or extremely, or ultimate al-arshad - from rushd; one who is rightly guided [superlative tense]. it becomes: the upright, the lion among righteous; one who is at the apex of guidance.
alaHazrat referred to muhaddith surati in these words. (i may be mis-transliterating) asadu'l asaddu'l ashaddu'l arshad does anyone know what they mean?
