Sometimes tasawwuf is translated as monasticism. If so, it just needs to be explained that Islamic monasticism differs to Christian. E.g. celibacy. Tasawwuf is part of Islam. Hadith e Jibril. It's not a separate entity that only choice people undertake. Or one has to go to a monastery or nunnery. Every Muslim should try to be sufi which simply means purifying his heart, 24/7.
