That too at a time when unemployment is at its max due to the pandemic. They have also put a disclaimer "The income generated from this event is used for the next 12 months of operational expenses of the masjid". It doesn't state "all money received" which in effect can imply that most will go as payments to the presenters and main guests! They should have also put another disclaimer "Apologies to those who can't afford the price"! Who wants to attend discourses by deviants anyway!
He's also a popular expert in fundraising. I know this from first hand sources in Atlanta. You wanna collect a $100,000 for a 'cause', just organize a fundraiser with Ninowy as the chief guest.
Ninowy is a known tafdhili (and a big hero to the yanafi crowd, does that forum exist any more?) and not a reliable scholar. I don't have any intention of watching the video and listening to his views. You can discount anything he says as representing sunni views.
Have the brothers listened to this? I only listened to snippets of part 4, and found it wishy washy. I don't know if the Shaykh does it on purpose but he makes insinuations about the Sahaba like Hazrat Umar. He claims these claims are inappropriate and then mentions narrations of Hazrat Umar profusely repenting about how he spoke to the Holy prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) during Khudaybiyah. He then said we should not live their mistakes but learn from their mistakes. I only watched a snippet of part 4, so can't really comment. It just felt like in appearing to be objective in his analyis, he was leaving the listener to question the actions of the sahaba.
