    a heart-felt sentiment:

na kyun soz-e-raza se, saaz-e-dahar gunje
ke sang dilo(n) ko mom deeda hon tha

    ala Hazrat says:-

taibah me mar keh thandey chaley jaao, aankheiN band,
seedhi sadak yeh shehre shafa'at nagar ki hai

Die in Taibah, and just coolly go ahead, eyes closed!
Towards the city of intercession, this is a straight road!

    alahazrat says:

kinaar e khaak e madinah meiN raaHateN milteeN
dil e HazeeN tujhe ashk e chakeedah hona thaa

in the soil of madinah, you wouldst have found comfort
my aching heart - you should have been the tear that was shed! [on the soil of madinah]

panaah e daaman e dasht e Haram meiN chayn aata
na Sabr e dil ko ghazaal e rameedah hona thaa

in the refuge of the bosom of the forest, that is the sanctuary, wouldst you have found peace
the patience in my heart should not have darted away like a fleeing gazelle [meaning if i were only patient a little more]

agar guloN ko khizaaN naaraseedah honaa thaa
kinaar e khaar e madinah dameedah honaa thaa

if flowers did not want to wither and see decline in the fall
near the thorns of madinah you should have blossomed

[kinaar also means to embrace; if the flowers would have embraced those thorns and blossomed - they would not have withered]

because, that which blossoms in the soil of madinah does not decline. as he has said in another line:

charche hotey haiN ye kum'hlaye huwe phuuloN meiN
kyuN ye din dekhtey paatey jo bayaaban e arab

the withered flowers discuss amongst themselves and lament,
why would we see this day, if only we had blossomed in the forest of madinah.

    ---
chakidah: that which is shed, Tapka huwa.
    rameedah: fleeing
    dameedah: to bloom, blossom

Oh glamorous moon of all the Prophets,

    we wish not to despair,

but often we need to be reminded,

even though you are right there.

Only two yards of land in "Baqih",

the palace that is by many yearned.

I pray my longing desire will be fulfilled,

but no doubt, it would have to be earned.

This longing desire is kept sustained

by seeing your magnificent green dome.

How restless I shall always be

until I am with you in my home.

There has never been and shall never be

anyone like you (my most sought of Love)

I say so by the word of our Creator

Allah the Greatest and Most High Above

    Oh Sovereign of Jannatul Baqih

Please save a space there for me...
