To be fair to him if he has indeed gone there to marvel at the beauty of the landscape that Allah has created and glorify Allah in doing so then indeed he will get the reward for that.

true. which is why I said:

when I said 'better' I meant - spiritual and serious i.e. the seriousness which the weight of knowledge and taqwa inspire.

I didn't mean that someone should gift him a 'Formula One' sports car for his next birthday : )

    ----
people, especially the youth, are falling prey to "guluw" in regards to shami sahab, which is very worrying indeed. We have seen umpteen examples of the havoc that popularity and fandom can wreak when they get to someone's head.

I am just hoping that shami sahab will change his ways for the better.

    And Allah ta'ala knows best.

pir saqib is a sunni. however, tahir didn't go directly from 'mawlana' to padri in a day. he started off in the 90's then slowly reached christmas cake padri by around 2010.

"Ghawth" is an ancient term, nowadays the trend is for more modern, sophisticated, and fancy terms - something that sounds bigger and better than ghawth!

"Segway shah baba" sounds sophisticated enough. Surely he has mastered the art...

in any case, it's nowhere close to this or this.

he's enjoying some light moments in his own private space. why should it be posted on facebook is beyond me.

of-course, it is not something that we would expect from a wali/gawth etc.

hope that it get's better with each passing year rather than otherwise.

Hazrat Taj ushSharia and his son Maulana Asjad Raza were both in Mumbai since 27-28 March 2016. So Saqib was not given a "welcome" by them, for sure. The brothers who thought they could get an endorsement from Hazrat or his son or from other reliable Sunni Muftis, weren't able to get a single one. Neither did Hazrat invite Saqib at his home nor did any responsible person invite Saqib to be the "chief guest" at the next Urs e Razavi.

Lying to get cheap publicity has been the hall-mark of Padri - the guy whom Saqib so ostentatiously refuted in the "conference". we hope Saqib or his followers will stay away from the same antics to up his ratings.

yes - and this has already been answered in this thread.

    Salaam brothers
Firstly i would like to say forgive this nacheez if i say anything wrong.

But if we say that shaami sahib is not a pir because he does not fit the criteria (i.e open sinner by listening to Qawali) then should not the same be about Sayyid irfan shah sahib and Sayyid Hashmi miyan sahib?

I understand that we cannot compare a non syed to a syed (may Allah protect us from committing such a ghustaaki) BUT if action of a non syed and a syed is the same and it is haraam, then doesn't the same ruling apply?

I contacted a few brothers who are students and close to our Master, Mufti Akhtar Raza Khan, to which they replied that Hazrat was not in Bareilly Sharif; rather, he was in Mumbai.

Saqib's page initially uploaded the status saying that he had a dinner, but after he realised that he couldn't pull this trick off, he changed the status.

@Harris786 What are you on about? Please think before you speak.

brother harris, did anyone call out sh. yaqubi for qawwali and/or short beard?

you are a regular here and you know very well the issues surrounding him.

besides, we do not demean a sayyid unless he crosses into kufr (Allah ta'ala protect all of us).

It does not matter whether he is an Arab or Asian. he need not even be a scholar because it is his lineage which ennobles him, first and foremost, and then his qualifications, if any.

    -----

you are pointlessly arguing about things which are quite straight forward. it's no use dropping names.

mashaAllah you are a sincere sunni brother. you are better than this.

given the public attention he has come to receive it is all the more important for saqib shaami sahab to forsake the dubious and doubtful. many sunni youth have taken a liking to him and it is a grave responsibility which now rests on his shoulders. his actions and stances can make or break their akhira.

we all pray and hope that shaami sahab starts following the mu'tamad hanafi positions in all issues and may Allah ta'ala give him and all of us tawfeeq and forgive our lapses.

    wa's salaam

Why not use the same excuses for Shaykh Yaqoubi who is the Alim of the time to many?
