i have to say i have just visited yanabi.com forum and the barely disguised hatred of amir muawiyah on that forum now is really sad to see--especially from some of the moderators. to the extent that when someone posted a fatwa of ala hazrat on the matter it was dismissed in scathingly sarcastic terms. all done in the name of 'being progressive' --this seems to be their new mantra. it is another euphemism for holding shia views. astaghfirullah, some of the comments by the main honcho on there even imply that since anyone who insults mawla ali is a kafir and since hazrat muawiya according to them ordered such insulting then....la hawla wa al quwwata ilah billah.
:s1: Here is an exceptionally well written article on the greatness of Sayyidina Amir al Mu'mineen Muawiyah :ra: by the Sunni convert and translator Aisha Bewley from classical sources: http://bewley.virtualave.net/muawiya.html
ali al-qari in mirqat sharH mishkat: bab manaqib as-SaHabah [vol.11, pg.151] as for mu`awiyah, he was among the prominent upright [al-`udul al-fuDala'a] and the righteous companions [wa'S SaHabati'l akhyar]. concerning the battles that occurred amongst them [companions]: every group assumed that they were in the right, and they fought because of this. each of them had their own interpretation [kulluhum muta'awwaluna fi Hurubihim] which led them to battle. none of them goes out of being just because they were mujtahids and they differed on an issue, just as other mujtahids after them differed on [various] issues. this does not necessitate degrading any one of them [companions]. Allah ta'ala knows best.
i am glad to inform that i have enjoyed deleting balderdash coming from mis.Hidayah. and that will continue. i have given him enough rope and i won't allow a person like him to disturb our forum. if he whines let him go and bark elsewhere. let me quote what he wanted me to quote from mirqat al-mafatiH of mulla `ali al-qari raHimahullah:in sharH as-sunnah, imam abu manSur al-baghdadi said: 'our companions are agreed unanimously that the best among the SaHabah are the four rightly guided caliphs according to their mention. and then the ten; and then the participant in badr; and then the participants in uHud; and then those who swore allegiance of riDwan and the prominent among the Helpers [al-anSar] of the two prior pacts [`aqabatayn]; so also those who were the earliest and the foremost [sabiqun al-awwalun] and those who prayed facing two qiblahs. it is said: 'the people of the allegiance of riDwan.' they also differed whether `ayishah was superior to khadijah and `ayishah was superior to faTimah. [raDiyallahu `anhum ajma`yin] mishkat, 6017: narrated from ibn `umar who said: RasulAllah sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam said: 'when you see someone disparaging my companions, say: 'Allah's damnation be upon your evil'. [idha ra'aytum al-ladhina yasubbuna aS'Habi fa quulu: 'la'anatu'llahi `ala sharrikum] [reported by tirmidhi] and in this regard is quoted the couplet of Hassaan ibn thabit raDiyallahu `anhu [which he said as a response to those who mocked at RasulAllah sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam]: a tah'ja'uuhu wa lasta lahu bi kufwin fa sharrukuma li khayrikumaa fidaa'u
Where did brother Aqdas in his quotes compare the status of Hazrat Amir Mu'awiya (radiAllahu anhu) with that of Badri Sahabas? Yet you had to dig up something to show that the status of Hazrat Amir Mu'awiya (radiAllahu anhu) was one of the lowest. Do not let our ulemas (such as khwaja qamar ud din siyalwi etc.) deep love for Ahl-e-Bait allow their statements to be twisted to suit shia canards. This is reminiscent of the acts of jews and christians. Just because Muslims show utmost respect for Hazrat Isa (alayhis salam), it does not mean that the christians have the license to denigrate the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) without the fear of a Muslim's retaliatory insults (nauzubillah) for Hazrat Isa (alayhis salaam). Such self-serving, selective quotations may suit your delusions but fail to cut the mustard with Sunnis. Do not forget that Hazrat Amir Mu'awiya (radiAllahu anhu) was one of the scribes of the holy Qur'an. Of course, a shia will always believe that the holy Qur'an was mutated. No wonder you fail to show any respect to the scribe of the holy Qur'an, which you anyway believe to been affected by tahreef! Of course, it is a common shia ploy to say that Hazrat Amir Mu'awiya (radiAllahu anhu) was an appointed scribe not for revelations but only for letters.
Assalaamu alaykum, JazakAllah for the quotes brother Aqdas. I needed something like that. wassalaamu alaykum
so your statement can also be paraphrased as that all of the above mentioned ulama, and all those who denounced the disparaging of sah'aba are dushmanan-e-Ali, right? I think then you are the only sunni who is left on earth, if you really claim to be a sunni. would you mind to honestly mention who you really are? shia, sunni (at least you youself can claim that), wahabi?
this is what our sunni scholars say about sayyidina ameer mu'awiya and those who revile him. imam ahmad raza whoever reviles mu'awiya is a dog from the dogs of hell [ahkam e shariyat, p.119] khwaja qamar ud din siyalwi if disrespecting hazrat mu'awiya is not iltizam e kufr, it is certainly luzoom e kufr. sayyid ahmad sa'eed kazmi one who calls ameer mu'awiya a fasiq cannot be a sunni. all of the sahaha are wajib ul iHtiraam; therefore, praying behind someone who labels ameer mu'awiya a fasiq is not allowed [fazayil e ameer mu'awiya, p.47] mufti ahmad yaar khan na'eemi one who calls ameer mu'awiya a fasiq is completely out of deen [bilkul bay deen hai] [23/10/1969] --- did these scholars not read the books that people on this forum are discussing?
