    SHAJARAH SHAREEF SILSILA ALQADIRIYYAH ALRAZAVIYYAH

THE BLESSED TREE OF THE QADIRI RAZAVI SPIRITUAL CHAIN

    English Translation by Aqib alQadiri

    NOTES FROM THE TRANSLATOR

    • It is indeed very difficult to match the beauty of Ala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza’s mastery over Urdu, Farsi and Arabic, in any other language such as English.
    • Since the prayers are in poetry form, it is still more difficult to do justice to the superb flow of the Imam’s words. It also not possible to fully replicate his passion and fervour.
    • Other than this, there are several names and titles of blessed personalities in this prayer. The Imam has used the proper names / titles in one part of the couplet, and has masterfully translated and used their meanings in another part, to convey his message.
    • It would be difficult for people who do not understand Urdu to fully appreciate the Imam’s mastery. I have therefore presented 2 translations here - one without and the other with the translation of the names / titles.
    • Only the first 19 couplets were written by Ala Hazrat.
