yes, I have seen this happen to Sayyidi Mufti Akhtar Rida Khan. The Turks and Iraqis just loved looking at him and used to flock around him. amazingly, I have seen a whole troop of soldiers standing to attention just stare and sway in their ranks (exchanging looks with each other - some actually smiled) when he walked passed them and this too when he was in Ihram prior to removing his hair - so there was no attention to garb but just the beautiful and lightsome face. In Madina al-Munawarra, I saw 'guards' at the Holy Mosque tap each other and involuntarily stand upon seeing him when he was about to enter. he does not allow more than two brothers to accompany him but it gets very difficult for him when people see him and flock around him. even when he even tries to hide himself, removing his turban, putting on a simple hat and the usual two piece clothe of an Indian Muslim and not allowing more than two murids to accompany him so that he does not cause a stir.
They (their senior officials and top dogs) know bloody well that Imamah is Sunnah from books of Hadith. Syrian and Turkish Sufis wear it in the Holy Mosques, and their cloaks almost scream out "Naqshbandi" to anyone who knows the culture of the Turks and proper Naqshbandi Sufis. Sudanese wear Imamah regularly as their traditional clothing. Yemenis wear it. Afghans and Pashtuns wear it all the time. If you're lucky you'll even see North Africans wearing it in their traditional styles. They generally don't stop anyone for wearing Imamah, even the Dawate Islami brothers' trademark green Imamah. You guys should know that the religious police are 1) an incredibly jealous people 2) who have no training in any Islamic sciences, even in their own cult and 3) have a terrible complex about themselves and unbelievably low self esteem issues. Their status in everyday society even amongst fellow citizens is equivalent to that of a typical Indian/Pakistani hawaldar, not even a starred police officer. People know they are worthless buffoons and thugs, but they have been given a uniform, and they will make sure they abuse it and make their nuisance value and place in society well known. Just the way the cookie crumbles. The situation with these jahils is exactly the same - and this is amongst their fellow citizens! Any unemployed idiot who is worthless in any other aspect of life simply goes and joins this bloody peace corp. They might have seen people flocking around this Shaykh or respecting him immensely and might have just been unable to control their hasad towards the respect of a Sunni Shaykh. In any case a Sufi, from any country pretty much has the word "Sufi" written all over him and the noor on his face is always visible in the haramayn, and it is too much to bear for these haasideen. So if they would have seen people respecting him immensely, it would have taken very little for them to arrest him due to their overflowing hasad. Worse yet, Allah forbid should they ever be told they are wrong! LOL If they pointed out a bid3ah to someone and a person actually gives a daleel and shuts them up, don't expect their darkened hearts to accept it with a thank you! They will do exactly what the audio said. It is also a possibility that they might have been aware in advance that this person is from the "Barelwiyah" through their informer network. Any "Sufi" and shia activity that takes place in any part of the world is reported to najd through a network of informers - be very sure of it, every single lecture, 3urs, na3t-khwani, mawled, hadra, anything Sunni in any ethnic community, Desi, Turkish, Indonesian, Malay, Arab, African etc. especially if someone talks about more than just Mawleds and self-flagellation (ie if someone openly speaks about politics and power play in the Muslim world) - is all reported by their informers. They comb through this information to look for political opposition, and to keep track of what's going on in the Sunni world in general and how and what to "refute" and so on, and if need be even "borrow" our proofs and methodology and parade it as their own, for sounding smart. Is this Shaykh Asrar political too in his speeches?
