Yasir Qadi is now a full blown reformist and progressive. He wishes to do away with fundamentals such as hudud. He used to be a ghayr muqallid wahabi, I think. Anyway, is it true that devbandism sometimes leads to ghayr muqallidism which leads to hadith denial which leads to outright apostacy? I've also read that some ghayr muqallids become Qadiyanis.
the main thread is here analysing yasir's speech/interview. see here: http://sunniport.com/index.php?threads/yasir-qadhi-on-quran-ahruf-and-qiraat.14510 this thread is related to yasir etc., but not exactly about that interview.
If you look at their twitter and facebook feeds, these two clowns, Ismail Ibrahim Patel and Salman Nasir Awan (ex-wahhabi ex-deobandi ex-yahudi ex-salafi) are implicitly trying to deny the tawatur of Quran. Twitter Feed of the clown Salman Nasir Awan https://twitter.com/SN_Makkah Ibn al-Jazari in al-Nashr: الطوفي في شرح مختصر الروضة:
The problem is not just Yassir Qadhi but his fanboys like Ismail Ibrahim Patel and Salman Nasir Awan They have been posting on twitter and facebook, texts from scholars casting doubts on Quran These people: Salman Nasir Awan, Ismail Ibrahim Patel, Hatem Awni, Yassir Qadhi, Hamza Yusuf Hanson, Abu Layth Nahiem Ajmal have one thing in common: con-artists https://www.facebook.com/IsmailIbrahimMS https://www.facebook.com/salman.i.nasir One such example is Imām al-Qurtubi (رحمه الله) mentions in his Tafsīr al-Jāmi' li-Ahkām 'l-Qur'ān: قَرَأَ عُمَرُ ابْنُ الْخَطَّابِ وَابْنُ الزُّبْيْرِ (رضي الله عنهما) : صِرَاطَ مَنْ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ ، "Amīr 'l-Mu'minīn 'Umar al-Fārūq and Ibn al-Zubair (رضي الله عنهما) recited as: 'sirāta man an'amta alaihim'," [1/230]. "Amīr 'l-Mu'minīn 'Umar al-Fārūq and Ubayy b. Ka'b (رضي الله عنهما) recited as: 'ghairil maghdūbi alaihim wa ghairid dāllīn'." [1/232].
the problem with qadhi and his ilk is that they are playing a game that was set-up by the "other", and by their own rules - no prizes for guessing who is gonna win.
continued from here: this a completely cooked up "principle" whose only source of legitimacy is that it is the opinion of someone who is considered a "research scholar" as per another arbitrarily established system. so when the drawing room chatter is written down and published by a an "academic" it automatically becomes the holy grail against which everything - no matter of how momentous an import - can reasonably be judged. the modern-day systems bear no resemblance to the Islamic one - and the evidences for their being better are either highly subjective or pure hubris.
According to Abu ibraheem's video, Yasir is "a clown" and a man full of "self-amazement" who thinks he knows better than the salaf and the texts and who causes people to doubt Islam and leave it, and apparently Yasir honestly thinks yajooj majooj might be zombies! The guy (Abu ibraheem) is of course a wahabi and at one or two places betrays his wahabi literalism and tajsim, but again contextually speaking, his critique of Yasir is correct (and it seems he considers Yasir a zindiq too in addition to mubtadiyi) this tweet was from Ramadan where self-amazed Yasir thought he's got a sense of humor and he voiced an opinion on qeema samosas. Just highlighting the fact that yasir's tafaqquh doesn't go beyond idiotic ramblings Oh I've grown to be very tolerant over the last decades. I am willing to accept a wide array of jurists and opinions. But of course there is one non-negotiable that I just can't compromise: => THERE. MUST. BE. QĪMA. <= Aloo samosa is a great snack, but not the real deal. https://t.co/MOJLi8KGwS— Dr. Yasir Qadhi (@YasirQadhi) May 5, 2020
yasir mardood is a hamza yusuf wannabe. he's been falling out with the wahabis too lately due to his love for western modernity. he's not even an honest-to-himself wahabi anymore. more like suhaib webb, omar suleiman et al. it seems he's going the same rotten path of ahmed khan of aligarh in his love for anything white and western see here for wahabis themselves disowning yasir: see this 3 minute video putting yasir in his place (they're right*) i didn't follow this yajooj majoj discussion, but it seems from the comments that yasir is of some bizarre opinions on the matter. there are wahabis commenting 'may Allah save us from the fitnah of yasir' below video, they chastise him for choosing yale over Madinah university of the wahabis (or any other Islamic seminary in the east. again, they're right mostly in the sense that yasir is a blithering moron for thinking he'll learn more Islam at yale than at some madrassa in Middle East, North Africa or Asia*) same sajid lipham talks something about yasir and lgbt (i didn't listen to this) * our imam Ala Hazrat has also said that wahabis are wrong but not everything they say is wrong. these guys are full on wahabis but their criticism of yasir is spot on in context
