Translation of naat: dar e nabi par

i did notice that, and i thought they were actual lyrics from a real audio track too

 

none of you noticed that both the english naats are famous Christian hymns
in praise of Isa:as: which I simply kept unaltered except for replaicing the names!!!

 

brother nj that is exactly the thought that came into my mind that maybe you have misspelt the word so it sounded like rabb

 

Nothing wrong with your use of word, but I have seen Shaykh Gibril Haddad translating Sayyid as 'liege-lord' (probably to distinguish it against 'Lord', which is the most commonly used/accepted translation for 'Rabb').

why not? sayyid = lord, master, chieftain etc.

only a mind thats been exposed to too many wolves would think that! if, in English, a servant can address his master of the house as 'my lord' why cannot the master of all creation be called lord?!
