However, in the book Adab ad-Dunya wa'd Din, al-Mawardi quotes it thus:

wa mā summiya'l insānu illā li unsihi
wa la’l qalbu illā annahu yataqallabu

It is because of solace [uns] that they are named 'human' [insān]
And so is the heart named [qalb] because it can turn over [yataqallab]

    ----
    alaHazrat has a similar line:
ins ka uns inhiN se hai / humanfolk [ins] find solace [uns] only in him
jaan ki woh hi jaan hai / he is the life [jaan in urdu] of the jinnfolk [jaan in arabic]

wa mā summiya'l insānu illā li nas’yihi
wa la’l qalbu illā annahu yataqallabu

It is because of forgetfulness [nisyan] that they are named 'human' [insân]
And so is the heart [qalb] because it can turn over [yataqallab - or because it can have a ‘change of heart’?]
