this is the belief of the companions raDiAllahu a'nhum, ala hazrat alaihi rahmah wa riDwan mentions a hadith in al amn wa'l u'laa from tabrani mu'jam al awsat and makarim al akhlaq lil kharaity, (i copied it from majmau' al zawaid hadith # 17349)

when the villager was granted unconditionally the permission to ask for anything, the companions were sure that now he will demand nothing but jannah, therefore it was the belief of the companions that rasulAllah distributes everything and they would yearn to get a chance to be granted to make an open and unconditional request.

RasulAllah alaihi afDalus salat wat tasleem himself commiserated that the villager's demand didn't come even close to the demand of the old woman of bani israiyl. in the previous hadith hazrat rabeea'h aslami raDiAllahu a'nhu fully realized this opportunity and requested what sahabah would yearn to request.

ala hazrat alaihi rahmah rips up all the doubts of wahabiyyah into pieces in his master piece al amn wa'l u'laa. in summary, Allah subh'anu wa ta'ala didn't say that O Musa! i grant her what she is asking from you, but rather Allah subh'anu wa ta'ala himself made it clear that hazrat Musa alaihi afDalus salat wat-tasleem has this authority from Him that he can grant her station in the highest place in jannah.

Of course not, because he alaihi afDalus salat wa-tasleem said Allahu yu'tiy that is He is the giver of everything, therefore whatever Allah azza wa jall gives is disseminated through RasulAllah alaihi afDalus salat wat-tasleem. Also, this is the way of imam bukhari that he brings quranic verses and ahadith in support of the title of the chapter, it does not mean that the hadith is restricted to knowlege only, and that nobody is allowed to drive other meanings just because imam bukhari has listed it in kitab al ilm. Don't you see that hazrat rabeea'h aslami requested jannah and RasulAllah alaihi afDalus salat wat-tasleem not only granted him jannah with his company but also asked that was there anything else he wanted to request. therefore he alaihi afDalus salat wat-tasleem distributes everything which Allah azza wa jall wills to bestow upon his creation.

This hadith is in Bukhari, book of knowledge.

But the distribution is not restricted to ilm, is it?
