MashaAllah. Let us also not forget the excellent role mufti Aslam Sahib has played in settling this dispute. He has done a lot of good to the Ahle Sunnat lately. May Allah keep the sunni ulema and the rest of us steadfast on the deen.
i congratulate mawlana shahid for the immense courage he has displayed and retracted for the sake of sunni unity. alHamdulillah. may Allah ta'ala increase his knowledge, his piety; give barakah in his life and protect him from all evil. we look forward for mawlana shahid's analyses of devbandi lies and rebuttal of false allegations against sunni ulama. he has been doing a good job lately, ma sha'Allah and the patch-up between sunni ulama will now cause heartburn to devbandi vultures. the two clowrons might have rejoiced that they would now escape mawlana shahid's cane. they will be disappointed now. i must also point out that the small aberration was also in the spirit of defending ahl al-sunnah. we all make mistakes. and the best among us is the one who acknowledges a mistake and retracts. --- a person's stature is not dented or diminished by retraction and accepting a mistake; rather, it only makes him taller. قال رسول الله -صلى الله عليه وسلم كلُّ بني آدم خَطَّاءٌ, وخيرُ الخَطَّائِينَ التوابون every son of aadam commits mistakes; and the best among those who make mistakes are those who repent and retract. nas'alu Allah al-aafiyah.
It would be good if some of the responses to the allegations are also made public to eliminate all doubt. Good this has all been wrapped up and credit to mawlana shahid. Takes a big man to admit his mistake- trust me, this is not common. Humility is a beautiful human trait and this was shown here.
Alhamdulillah, it seems like the issue has been resolved. This is how internal issues should be resolved and the likes of Nabeel and Irfan Shah should take heed. Sit down privately with the scholars and talk things through
mashaAllah tabarak Allah. Shahid sahab displayed real strength of character there by apologizing to Asrar Rashid and Sunni public. may Allah grant him barakah in his Sunni endeavors as well as personal life. Aameen
