1. Awaam doesn't know anything so anyone with some knowledge becomes hujjat ul Islam to them because they can't differentiate between the gradations of scholars. They won't be able to tell the difference between the average imam and imam Abu hanifa 2. Group think- someone says so and so is an allamah so everyone just agrees and jumps on the bandwagon 3. People mistake fiery speeches for knowledge 4. The level of what a scholar is itself has been brought down so now people who do part time three year courses become mawlana. In that case, anyone who does the full course full time is naturally an allamah at the minimum 5. Anyone who's on TV becomes a celebrity and people think the celebrity scholar must be more knowledgeable than the unknown one writing a PhD thesis on the problems with free will compatabilism on the atheistic paradigm.

You need to add the biggest one to the list of errors. His statement that Allah himself gives "gaali" (Astaghfulirullah). This was the starting point of his downfall!

Even before the Jalali case, Irfan Shah used to say: my only majboori to consider Abu Bakr afzal is Mawla Ali. This is wrong. The Quran and sunnah firstly point to tafdil al-shaykhayn. What if Mawla Ali didn't speak on it? Would you not then consider Siddiq afzal?
He has mocked ulama who speak about afzaliyyat by saying: 'go check Matla ul Qamarayn because you keep that at your bedside.'

He nodded at those who exclude the mothers of believers from the verse of purification. He nodded when Hind رضي الله عنها was reviled and he didn't even object. I've heard him say 'those who swore at Mawla Ali' - alluding to Amīr Mu'āwiyah رضي الله عنه. Quoting forged hadith to obscure the aqidah of Afdaliyyah. Ali and I are from the same nuur. Uniting with Riyaz Shah who has been declared rafidi by Jamiah Na'imiyyah Lahore. Uniting with Abdul Qadir Shah who is a rafidi. He said másūm and mahfūz are the same thing. Just that one is definitive. Sayyidah Fatimah رضي الله عنها was called másūmah in front of him. He said whoever says Sayyidah did khata is kafir. This is rafidi usul. His brother said Fatimah is superior to prophets عليهم السلام in his presence. Nabeel looked towards Irfan and looked shocked but no tawbah.
