Nice post, have searched for something similar to share with others for a long time.

I feel a lot of things that occur when doing ziyarat of Baal Mubarak that are wrong are usually due to people not being educated or informed enough on what they are actually supposed to do.

For this purpose could you extend the list any further? I.e. what should people do when approaching the blessed hair? Some people kneel down, some people attempt to touch it and kiss their hands, etc. and as I mentioned I think this is often due to not being sure what they should do.

A prescriptive list that can be shared would be really useful, particularly with Mawlid programs going on at the moment.

    JazakAllah khayran.

It is the duty of the ulema and imams of the masjid to make these rules clear in advance, in urdu and english.

If the imam is derelict in his duty, you should at least be aware of these rules/adab and tell your friends and family (who will be attending) in advance, perhaps could even spread a whatsapp message in the local area which will reach several people, insha Allah.

No chance! Most people just won't heed and learn. 50-60% of people brandish phones standing right opposite mawajah sharif. Some even relay live commentary of their experience to folks at home. This situation will only get worse. Other day I saw a clip of a young man carrying his shoes in hand while presenting himself before the mawajah sharif.

Can people stop taking photos and videos of the mū e mubarak of RasulAllah ﷺ and posting them on social media?

Where is the reverence and Adab? Seen a few people do that since this morning and I’ve had to restrain myself not to comment ‘jaahil aadmi’ (read in Sh Asrar’s tone).

People who bring the Mū e Mubarak ﷺ should make sure that people have read the points that @Aqdas mentioned below.

I think even the obvious “please don’t take photos and videos” should be added.

    1. Be with wudu.

    2. Dress your best.

    3. Apply your best non-alcoholic fragrance.

    4. Continuously recite durud sharif.

    5. Stand when mū e mubarak are brought into the room and fold your hands out of adab.

    6. Think about RasulAllah ﷺ. You are metres away from him! Think about what he did for you and how he loves you. Then think that I am so close to him right now. He is alive. His hair is living! This will make you emotional.

    7. Don't be loud. You are in his ﷺ presence. Be as quiet as possible. We should hear a pin drop. You talk when RasulAllah ﷺ is present...?!

    8. Don't turn your back to the blessed forelocks. This is true adab.

    9. Line up properly. Obey orders and don't push.

    10. DO NOT try to touch the blessed hair. OUR hands and the hair of the best of creation? How dare we?

    11. When you see the blessed hair, make dua and recite durud sharif.

    12. Get a good reciter, a practicing Sunni, to softly recite a na'at about the blessed forelocks, such as #Alahazrat's, 'chaman e taybah meiń sunbul jo sańwārey geysū'.

    13. Do not take photos or videos of the mū e mubarak.

    14. Do not prolong your ziyārah if there is a lengthy queue. Five seconds is enough and then move swiftly on in regard for others.
