Usha Sanyal's work(s) were reviewed in the following threads:

    1. Usha Sanyal's "Devotional Islam and Politics in British India"
    2. A sad, sad state of affairs
    3. Imkan Nazir of the Prophet sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam
    4. usha sanyal's biography of alahazrat

Mawlana abu Hasan's remarks are as incisive and witty as ever.

Sanyal's belong to those category of works which begin with an expressed aim of capturing the beauty of a seaside sunset in a sky freckled with technicolor cirrus clouds, shot through with golden rays, creating an indescribably beautiful facade, but end up depicting a lurid red giant star as seen from the shores of a grisly body of liquid of unknown chemical composition, surrounded by a dystopian landscape of a shriveled planet in the final throes of annihilation.

The intentions may have been benign, ambitious even, but the final product fails to justify its own preface.

    And Allah knows best

    As-Salam Alaykum

Has anyone has read the book Devotional Islam & Politics in British India: Ahmad Riza Khan Barelwi 1870/1920 by Usha Sanyal?

    Is this author reliable?

    Thank you
