by the way, i really hate this presumption, many sunni brothers take on their first encounter other muslims being ahl al-bidah, and then build up all other opinions upon it, this is really strange behavior. why don't we keep it simple that until and uless someone is proven to be a transgressor, we keep good opinion about him. have you ever been in a situation when someone's outfit and unkempt long beard gives you a feeling that he is a staunch wahabi or tableeghi, but then he turns out to be a pure sunni?

brother Qasim it is not an attack on you, because you too are someone i don't know, the above is just a general observation.

do you think i haven't seen them? i have lot of printed as well as e-books (by doebandis, wahabis, and sunnis) ; and for your knowledge, and i don't feel any hesitation to mention it, that majority of good books on arabic grammer in urdu are written by deobandis *, but still for self learning they are not the best, you need a teacher to explain things, but if you have lqtoronto videos you don't need any teacher.

anyway, don't want to debate on it, may be you are right.

    * imam bukhari used to go to grammarians who were mu'tazalites, however our ulama should serious work on it.

An incorrect translation and not being Sunni are two different issues.

  6. I you know Urdu there are many good books on the market.

  7. I was talking about the incorrect translation of the holy Qur'an, that is what should be pointed out.

I don't think you read my posts properly.

  8. Look at the translations you will easily find the mistakes.

not really, when i could go to dars e nizam, i had never thought about it, all i was in was to get a professional degree. now, when i really yearn for it, my responsibilities don't allow me. alas! what a loss.

I agree with brother Noori on this one. It's different when it's a language. Brother Noori seems like someone who has many many years of experience under his belt that comes with the frustration of trying to get our mawlana sahibs to teach us and has finally resorted (because of this!) to aquiring whatever he can however he can in the most responsible manner that he can. I sincerely wish him all the best in his journey of quenching that most beautiful thirst that he has within him. May Allah help him.

i don't agree with you brother, the site is really nice apart from the translation, and i didn't bother to look at it, because what i liked was the simple syntactical analysis specially the treebank.

yes, if you learn aqidah, hadith, tafsir or other uloom, but there is nothing wrong in learning a language. knowledge is the lost treasure of muslim, wherever he finds it he is more deserving it

with regards to creed, hadith, tafsir, it is certainly very dangerous, but i don't think that your stated fatwa apply to learning a language, otherwise you shouldn't send your children to english schools, or attend language classes abroad just to make your living (i assume english is not your mother tongue)

you should also advise that our dars e nizam texts should not be taught from deobandi publications, no dar al-uloom teaches every book entirely, students have to read them by themselves so the perils of misguidance are there as well, and even more than a language course.

sorry, but i am quite comfortable with it while i am fully aware of the perils of learning from ahl al-bidah.

Sorry for this, maybe you picked up something that I missed but how did you gather from the site that they are non-Sunni?

  13. Please note that it is Makruh Tahrimi (highly disliked and close to being haraam) for the 'awaam (general lay people) to read the books written by innovators (Ahl ul Bid'ah).
It is only permissible for the Scholars that are aware of that specific sects wrong beliefs. You should be even more careful when it is related to the Holy Qur'an.

  14. No it's not really nice at all please see my previous comment.

  15. Mawlana Abu Hasan when you post a link you should make it clear whether it is a Sunni link or not. The translation in the link that you have provided is not by Sahih ul 'Aqeedah Sunni Muslim. Please refrain from posting links to such websites in the future, or at least write that it is a non Sunni Muslim link barak Allahu fikum wa fi ahlikum

well, i took a little deeper look and have changed my opinion, Lisaan-ul-Quran series is also good but still not better than madinah book series with video course. Lisaan-ul-Quran is a good reference for teachers, and for those who have understood basic concepts very well.

the problem with Lisaan-ul-Quran (like any other arabic grammer book) is that it uses examples of constructs that are discussed later in the book, which unnecessarily confuses a self-reader, many rules are explained in one place rather than introducing them gradually and with simple examples. on the other hand madinah book series is almost (not 100%) free of such cases, it teaches one construct at a time without mixing advanced rules.

but still Lisaan-ul-Quran is better than other books. once you finish madinah book one with all of its videos, you can also use Lisaan-ul-Quran alongside to strengthen your understanding and boost your vocabs.

not good, and it is also a deobandi publication, if that matters to you for learning arabic language. all complex concepts and rules are there from the beginning, which will hinder your learning.

i should tell you that even with madinah book series you'll face problems, you should follow the video course at lqtoronto, and there is a nice forum too where you can post questions.

The one I meant (see the link) is a method with a focus on grammar and with exercises. And in almost every chapter there is an exercise where you apply the theory on Quranic verses.
