As it stands, the UAP issue seems like a microcosm of everything that can go wrong with intelligence. If the UAP report suggests anything, it’s that pilots are struggling to make sense of increasingly noisy skies, that military sensors cannot always be relied upon, and that the Pentagon’s analysts are out of their depth.

It also shows that unless the Department of Defense obtains clear evidence of an undeniable craft operating in undeniably extraordinary ways, Congress, and the public, should remain sceptical of UAP proponents.

The Navy Finally Speaks Up About Its Bizarre "UFO Patent" Experiments

This statement from NAWCAD also raises a few questions about why these experiments were funded and supported so extensively by high-ranking scientists within the organization in the first place. Despite every physicist we have spoken to over the better part of two years asserting that the "Pais Effect" has no scientific basis in reality and the patents related to it were filled with pseudo-scientific jargon, NAWCAD confirmed they were interested enough in the patents to spend more than a half-million dollars over three years developing experiments and equipment to test Pais' theories.

Despite the fact that NAWCAD says the experiments ended in September 2019 without proving the “Pais Effect,” the inventor asserted to The War Zone in a November 18, 2019 email that his work “culminates in the enablement of the Pais Effect” and that “as far as the doubting SMEs [Subject Matter Experts] are concerned, my work shall be proven correct one fine day…”

Norway in the 1950s was gripped by sensational reports of UFOs, with pilots seeing mysterious craft hurtling ahead of them at incredible speeds.

These reports were matched by people on the ground who said they had seen flashing objects implausibly high in the sky.

Now the mystery is over, Aftenposten newspaper reports. What Norwegians were seeing were test flights of top secret U2 spy planes, according to a recent tweet from the CIA's Twitter account, which says: "Do you remember the reports of unusual activity in the sky in the 50's? That was us."

U2s flew at altitudes above 60,000ft (18,000m) at a time when most passenger planes cruised at 10-20,000ft, and military aircraft rarely exceeded 40,000ft. When the Sun set below the horizon the U2s were still high enough to reflect its rays, and other pilots saw them as bright, silvery objects in the night sky, the CIA said.

The US Air Force's Project Blue Book investigation into unexplained aerial phenomena concluded that Norwegian sightings tallied with U2 flights. The information was kept classified to shield the spy programme from the Soviets at the height of the Cold War, Aftenposten says.
