Ulama shouldn't worry about maslahat, expedience. They should be fearless and speak the truth in front of a thousand opponents. Truth is what lives on.

This also applies to scholars who get influenced by sulh types around them. There's no need to please everyone. You speak the truth, even if you are left alone.

And the one who speaks truth wins in the end. Just look at Alahazrat or even Taju'sh Shariah. Never cared to please the people and today, Alahazrat has hundreds of millions of followers and Taju'sh Shariah millions.

Sulh types will always look to surround influential ulama to soften them up. True ulama won't change.

Some people seem hellbent on ruining their once respectable reputation. We can only hazard guesses as to the underlying reasons for this.

But no one should jump off a cliff on another's command. If they have been warned time and again but display utter disregard, it is obvious their new found inclinations aren't something they consider a mistake.

But why should YOU ruin your reputation for them? People know you as a Sunni. Do you want to bring your profile into disrepute for the sake of somebody who doesn't care for theirs?

We are in 2021. 30 years from now, do you really want to look back and think, 'why did I go? I wish I had stood firm and abstained.' Time cannot be reversed. Don't do things you'll live to regret. You are a Sunni scholar: live by it. Don't tarnish your name for others. Let it be 2051 and you look back and say, 'praise to Allah, I always spoke the truth and never attended dubious events. I did the best I could.'

Those adamant on heresy will go to their graves and will not come to yours. You won't be able to say to the angels, 'I was only following. It was them who invited me.' This excuse won't stand in the grave nor on judgement day. The person you followed will wash his hands of you by exclaiming, 'when did I force you to?'

Don't put your reputation on the line for others. Be brave. Be strong. Be upright. Live a life that on your deathbed, you smile to yourself and think, 'I did nothing for Ahl al-Sunnah but I didn't sellout. I never lent a hand to deviants and did what I could do break the back of innovation.'
