    Brother,

I am not doubting this Hadith at all.....simply asking for verification that it is authentic, as I do not have Muslim Shareef to hand. More importantly, I wanted to know if it is referring to the Final Sermon of our Beloved Rasul salallahu alaihi wasallam in which the reference is to Quran and Sunnah, not Progeny as stated in this particular Hadith. If it is referring to a separate issue/context, then any information is welcome.

When I mentioned this to an acquaintance, they simply said it could be from a Shia source without further clarification, hence I thought I'd pose the question here. I apologise if I did not make myself clear.

Hope someone can clarify it. Jzk.

    Assalamualikum

the hadees you have quoted is from sahi muslim. now how why are you doubting it to be shia manipulatied hadees. coz if it was, then it wouldnot be in sahi muslim.
same hadith is also mentioned in sunan tirmidi shareef

Please can someone clarify if the following Hadith is referring to the Last Khutbah of RasulAllah Salallahu alaihi wasallam? (.....which refers to leaving behind the Quran and Sunnah -not Progeny--as stated in this particular narration)

    JazakAllah.

"I leave among you two precious and weighty trusts, one being the Book of God and the other my Progeny. These two legacies will never be separated from each other, and if you lay firm hold of them you will never go astray." Muslim, al-Sahih, Vol. VII, p. 122`
