it was a nice talk. i would guess about 200 youth attended. the host talked highly of sh. asrar but then had to ask his name when he called him to the stage! "is it sh. yasin?" sh. asrar had to then tell him his name. this MUST be avoided - have a piece of paper or cover it up if you can't remember his name, e.g. "i now invite, uh, uh, i now invite the shaykh to take the mic..." the talk was about alaHazrat and his works. he began by saying sh. badr al-din hasani, abu ja'far kattani and imam nab'hani were the mujaddidun of the middle east and alaHazrat was of the subcontinent. sh. asrar named many of the rasayil in fatawa ridawiyyah. he also read out the hanafi chain of alaHazrat. he talked about jami' al-ahadith and other works on alaHazrat's work in hadith. he mentioned the foul-mouthed wahabi liar, ihsan ilahi zahir and his burnable al-Barelwiyah and then allama sharf qadri's reply to it. also mentioned was pir ma'ruf husain shah, who is in charge of around 18 mosques in bradford including the mosque which held the talk, and that he funded the lahore edition, 30 vols, of fatawa ridawiyyah. there was a q&a at the end where he mentioned that sunnis must unite, sunni youth must study the dars e nizami syllabus which sh. asrar argued was very strong and comprehensive and stronger than what he studied in syria.

He completed his studies in the Arabic language, fiqh, logic, inheritance law, usul and hadith under the tutelage of Allama Rasool Bakhsh Saeedi, Mufti Muhammad Yaar Khan Qadri and Shaykh Muhammad Jumu‘a. Shaykh Asrar has travelled to a number of countries in pursuit of sacred knowledge including Syria, Morocco and the Hijaz where he obtained licences to transmit the classical sciences from the likes of Shaykh Muhammad al-Ya‘qoubi, Shaykh Idris Kattani, and the great Muhaddith of Makka Sayyid Muhammad ibn ‘Alawi al-Maliki. At present he teaches the Dar-e-Nizami Programme in Birmingham as well as continuing advanced studies under Mufti Muhammad Yaar.
