  1. Can i say that the majority of sunnis consider shaykh al akbar and al hallaj as great saints and awliya and excluding the 313 hidden saints whom are only known to Allah and His Habib and to each other there are none like them nowadays. Who has the zuhd of shah mansoor today? Allah Akbar. It is enough that he is listed in the biographies of the awliya such as Data Sahib's kashf al mahjoob and tazkirat al awliya by Attar. We are not worthy of carrying either of their shoes nor are those who critique them.
    Salafis can go hang.
The reason many people remain in Islam on this age of fitna id because of the existence of the likes of husayn ibn mansoor al hallaj in this religion. What else but absolute conviction and love of Allah could make a life and death like his possible.

ya hallaj imdad kun! Madad ya shaykh al Akbar!

  2. ana l-haqq means 'I am THE Truth' which is a name of Allah. Mansur al-Hallaj said it, not Ibn 'Arabi; al-Hallaj was executed because of that statement.

ibn 'arabi's works are not meant for the layman who doesn't understand basic 'aqidah terminology, let alone ibn 'arabi's own set of specialised vocabulary. people who were intimately connected with his works like ash-sha'rani appreciated them, and never declared takfir on him. the methodology of ahl as-sunnah is to be cautious in making takfir.

    salamoalykum,

    what does wahdathul wujood mean?

I listened to a salafis talk and astagfirullah they called Ibn Al Arabi RA a kafir becaus of his Wahdathul Wujood idea?

he says Ibn Al Arabi said 'a-nal Haqq' which means I am God???

But I am sure a-nal Haqq means I am with the truth?

Can someone please shed some light on this topic and recommend any books I could read?

    JazakAllah Khair Wa Ahsanal Jazaa.

    Mohammed Wasim.
