  1. Last night, Habib gave a short speech to his students after the mawlid:

    The Beloved

    He began by praising Allah for the ni'mah of our Beloved salla Llahu 'alayhi wa alihi wa sallam. Allah has ordained celebrating such a ni'mah only for those destined for salvation. We shall benefit from this according to our portions of Iman and certainty. We are celebrating the very essence of happiness and salvation, through celebrating the birth of its key, salla Llahu 'alayhi wa alihi wa sallam. In this night (laylat al-mawlid), happiness (sa'adah) is made clear for those destined to be happy.

    Taqwa

    It befits all of us to search for the meanings of taqwa and embody them - by means of the most pious of all creation. "Indeed the most noble of you are the most pious (atqakum") and he salla Llahu 'alayhi wa alihi wa sallam is thus most certainly the most pious of us. Our taqwa - consisting of leaving the prohibitions and obeying the commandments - is taken from him, as are our sunan. Apply these in every aspect of your lives.

    Action

    We must rise to the level of loving and hating, giving and witholding for the sake of Allah alone. If you are going to hate an essence, attribute, idea, belief, go ahead and hate - but for the sake of Allah alone. The same applies to love. "Love and hate for the sake of Allah are the strongest handholds of Iman". Likewise we must strive to be amongst those who are the coolness of the eyes for our Beloved salla Llahu 'alayhi wa alihi wa sallam - those that benefit creation.

    Dua

    Habib made dua that Allah purifies our ideologies, ideas, thoughts and actions by virtue of the purest of all, salla Llahu 'alayhi wa alihi wa sallam, and that our difficulties and those of our brothers in Sham and elsewhere are relieved, especially after the enemies have siezed control of our lands. He concluded by outlining the adaab of entering the Masjid Ba 'Alawi, where the Hadramis meet up on the mawlid day to celebrate.

  2. Allah bless you, sayyidi, and make us all amongst the obedient slaves of the Mahdi, 'alayhi wa 'ala abaa'ihis-salam.

  3. Wadood

    Wadood Veteran

    i have searched east and west, and the peace and tranquility to the degree found among the students and students of the Ba 'Alawiyya is no where to be found to this degree. It is they who have covered east and west actually.

    its the barakah of HaDramaut, its the barakah of Hijaz

    its the barakah of Aal al Bayt! anyone who has held to the rope of the Aal al Bayt is saved in this age. So, hold on the rope of the Sadaat! They are enough for you. Imam al Mahdi 'alaihissalam will arise among them.

  4. Habib 'Umar (Allah preserve him) says:

    "The most pious and devoted of all creation - in absolute terms - is the Creator's beloved, our master Muhammad... he whose mention becomes commonplace in this month of yours.

    The appearance of his blessed person into this world was no ordinary appearance; it was one of great significance and conseqeunces,

    which were made apparent by the One, the Unique, in proclamation of our master's status, Muhammad."

    Allahumma salli wa sallim wa barik 'alayhi wa 'ala aalih.

  5. Habib 'Abd al-Qadir as-Saqqaf (Allah be pleased with him) made the following dua, during one mawlid gathering:

    "We ask Allah that [the blessing of] these nights return to us, with a garment from the garments of Muhammad being donned upon us,

    such that its light becomes manifest:

    manifest on the face, illumining it;

    manifest in the heart, enlightening it;

    manifest in the soul, relieving its hunger;

    and manifest on the body, enabling it to obey his commands."

    Allahumma salli wa sallim wa barik 'alayhi wa 'ala aalih.
