sister please see post #5 explaining what i said to the brother. i said, even if you talk about "girly" stuff only leaving aside the serious issues or religious stuff, you'd still help develop the forum by having your own section. anyways jazak Allah for getting my point. no use flogging a dead horse any more. if anything, lately some of us brothers have proven beyond a shadow of doubt that we are not even capable to talk about cars and soccer, at least using a textual medium. i think we brothers all ought to start recording audio clips or video clips on what we intend to say and post the links to them. it will help us bypass the necessity to read and write consciously.
Although I understand the point you were trying to make I was offended by u mentioning us talking about bibs and recipes because it came across as if we as women don't have the intellectual capacity to talk about more serious matters , it's like guys talking about cars and soccer on here a bit cliche . But I agree with the main point u were trying to make .
that was my point before our (boys) wires got cross-connected. see my post #1 on this same thread and you sisters should take it upon yourselves to get more Sunni sisters on here and have your own sisters section opened up by the admins.
Following the thread of both posts I realised that it has nothing to do with my initial post but just to add I think as Sunnis we are really lacking in terms of learned sisters and it's something that needs to be promoted more . I would love if there was a forum or platform dedicated to islamic sisters. I also want to know if there is anyone here that has studied shafi fiqh that could help with a question JazakAllah .

Ok I'm really confused about what the whole issue was with my post maybe it is because I'm new to this forum and not entirely sure how things work.

lately it seems, reading has become a lost art on this forum! for the benefit of one and all, this is what i said in plain english what that means is: the forum needs our sisters to contribute to it, in all aspects but even if they only talk about mundane worldly matters pertaining to their gender role as Muslim mothers and wives, just the sisters' presence in itself is still a great thing for the development of the forum as a website for Sunnis. i hope that decodes my cryptic message.

Brother Abdul Qadir, you are way out of line saying that women only discuss: baby bibs and dessert recipes. Make fun of women privately with your friends, but when its in public, you need to appear supportive, not cynical. Also, are you married, because if not, and you are not in relationship with women in anyway, your cynical treatment of them is unjustified.

jazak Allah khayr sister Muslimah Madani for posting. i think this forum needs as many sisters' contributions as it needs brothers', even if you only discuss baby bibs and dessert recipes. i think the forum should have a separate sisters section where you can discuss your "women's business" like home issues, schooling, parenting, kids etc. the section can stay publicly viewable and moderate-able, but based on the honor code the brothers should not get involved in sisters discussions. anything that is common to all in the Islamic sciences, or general public good or social issues can be discussed in those relevant sections by all (like your query here). any specific matters of sisters that can't be publicly discussed due to haya, can be discussed by the sisters in private messages among themselves, and i hope we have aalimah sisters for this. for avoiding fitnah, private messaging between males and females should be disabled. but that would necessitate everyone stating their gender at joining. dunno how much that is achievable technically. (for some reason, i can no longer post in this thread where i intended to post these comments)
