Asalaamualaikum please can some one translate some of the risaalah.. only the bit which is relavant to this topic.. Jazak ALLAH Wasalaam Sohaib
His view is in the following pamphlet: http://library.faizaneattar.net/Urdu/Islamic_Books/03/42/Index.htm
Surely one of the sincere lovers of Aqa salalhu 'alyhi waslam is none other than Shah Ahmed Raza 'alyhi rahma. His view on this subject is too much for us 'ushaaq' to practice. If we were to follow his fatwa I doubt naat khwans would be tempted from Pakistan to the UK as they do on an annual basis to display their 'ishq. There is a risala on his views available from Dawate Islami stalls. It is another masterpiece and highlights how some of us have strayed from the pristine teachings of Ala Hadrat 'alyhi rahma. Wasalam
If its a thing of value that is being thrown then it isn't disrespect. I don't know Ala HAzrats fatwa but i do know that Pir Syed Irfan shah sahib approved of it and gave proof of its eligibility and in one mefil in dewsbury Qibla shah sahib themselves did khidmat in this way the video is on the internet if you want the link i'll post it
Asalaamualaikum... there is a HUGE difference between a Murshid (Shaykh) and a naath khwaan. in my personal opinion! if a person throws money on his own shaykh, he is disrespecting him by throwing things at him and de-grading his status of him to a a Shaykh to a naath khwaan.. (remember this my personal opinion... if i am wrong please correct me.. then i will be able to rectify my self). and by de-grading the status of a Shaykh is not a very good action to do.. bayshak the status of a naath khwaan would be high because he is the naath of The Holy Prophet (salalahu alaihiwasalam) but Murshid's status is higher. because of their ilm, amal and tassawaf etc the murshid would also read naaths as well. regarding the Masla whether if its allowed or not.. isnt there a fatwa regarding giving money by Imaam-e-Ahlesunnath Imaam Ahmad Raza Khan (alaihi rahmaturahmaan) in Fatawah Razhwiya.. im not sure what the fatwa says.. but please if any one else knows please can they share their knowledge!.. i hope i didnt offend anyone.. my intenstion was not to Jazak ALLAH Wasalaam Sohaib
There are a number of very questionable practices I have witnessed by Sufis. In my view there is to much ghuluw amongst certain murideen which the Najdiya use to taint all of Ahl as-Sunnah with. From the sub-con Dawate Islami seem to have the right balance between sharia and respecting their murshid.
You can't just say it's showing off when you don't even know the intention of one who is doing khidmath and believe me respected brother this Pir hasn't forgot about any aspects of Tasawuf they are one of the great spiritual masters of the time that you can only see when you do their ziyarat and sit in their sohbet. Hz Molana Sheikh Nazim Haqqani told a number of his mureeds that live in the u.k that if they can't reach his company then go and sit with Khwaja Sufi Arshad Mahmood sahib. They are the mehboob awal khalifah of Huzoor Khwaja Sufi Mohammed Aslam sahib alayhi rahma. "I've travelled all over the world and seen naqshbandis all over the world but i have never seen the color that Khwaja Sufi Arshad Mahmood sahib has on his face," not my words but the words of the great Mufakkir-e-Islam Hazrat Pir Syed Irfan Shah Mashadi Moosvi sahib
Why this money cannot be given after naat khwan finishes his naat, and why is it necessary to shower? It is more like a show off. Why some peers only want to practice this money showering fanfare, and forget other practices of tasawwuf.
Why is it any different who it's thrown on (the sheikh or the naat khwaan). The masla is that it is allowed so i don't see what the disagreement is
I think we'll agree to disagree on this matter. I suppose if your murshid accepts this it's difficult for a mureed t believe. Owais Qadris' has clearly stopped people from throwing money. however in certain mahafil he has let it go such as in Manchester and Luton. In spite of this he stated his dislike of this in a recent mehfil. The following clip is very interesting and a lot of na'at khwans should follow his example: http://www.muhammadiya.com/Pegham Saba Lai Hai - An Nabi Sallu Alaih.html
I think brother Yaseen meant constant throwing of money on the Pir whilst he is sat down. You are referring to throwing on naat khwans so I dont think there is a point of disagreement?
The "look at me manner" which you are talking about is an individual aspect not a collective aspect. It is down to one's own niyath just because a handfull will do it to show off doesn't mean evryone does and thus this method is not allowed
This manner of "khidmat" is conducted in many well known tariqas, the Aslami Arshadi tariqa is 1 Sheikh Hisham Kabbani approves of it which means Sheikh Nazim does. The sheikhs of Chura sharif also it was also at golra sharif when the sajada nasheen before the present one was alive it is approved by aulama such as Pir Syed Irfan shah sahib, Allama Saeed Asad sahib Dr. Kokab Noorani sahib Mufti Ayub Hazarvi sahib amongst others. Awais Qadri didn't stop this kind of khidmath in the mefil organised by huzoor Khwaja pir Arshad Mahmood Aslami this year in June at Leeds.
I am fully aware of this hadith and do not doubt the authenticity. However, surely there has to be a level of adab in observing this sunnah. Why make such a show- I don't think Aqa salalahu 'alyhi wasalam would approve of the fanfare with which it is done. Indeed many 'ulama such as Peer Naseerudin Golarvi detestes 'khidmat' done in this "look at me" manner. Even Owais Qadri in a mahfil stopped people from throwing money-this didn't surprise me considering his affiliation with Dawate Islami.
HAzrat Qibla Pir Syed Irfan Shah sahib explained this masla 4 years ago at the mehfil held by hazrat sahib in Leeds with Qibla Shah sahib as the main guest speaker the haqchaaryaar team will back me up on that InshAllah
The money is gathered and given to the naat khwaan or the scholar the sheikh doesn't keep the money. There is a hadith of the Prophet peace be upon them that a sahabi was once reading a naath and Aap(saw) threw their chadar mubarak over him from where Aap(saw) were sat.
