    بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم۔

    In the book جنتی زیور,
علامہ عبد المصطفی اعظمی رحمة اللہ تعالی علیہ mentions a Wazifa which is effective for the acceptance of Duas. Recite the following Wazifa three times in the morning and evening, ان شاء اللہ every lawful Dua will be accepted:

Another Wazifa for the acceptance of Duas is written in the book دکھ درد اور بیماریوں کا حل، written by the خلیفہ of
سید شاہ تراب الحق قادری رحمۃ اللہ تعالی علیہ، which is to recite
یا سمیع one hundred times daily with Durood Sharif before and after. Similarly, one should recite یا رافع twenty times and یا وھاب seven times daily.

Another Wazifa is mentioned in اوراد عطاریہ، which is to recite یا باقی one hundred times daily after ‘Isha and one thousand times every Friday night, which is the night preceding Friday, with Durood Sharif before and after.

There is general permission for all these Wazaif.

we must do du'a with the firm belief [yaqin] that it will be accepted; as said in this hadith:

    tirmidhi 3479.png

and one should have good opinion about Allah ta'ala.

    bukhari 7405.png

    ----
we believe that our dua is accepted. and we dua with the firm belief that it is accepted, in spite of our worthlessness, ineligibility, wretchedness and sins. nas'alu Allaha al-aafiyah

    Allah is al-Karim.

kareem apne karam ka sadqa layim e be qadr ko na sharma
tu aur hum se hisaab lenaa? kya hum bhi koyi hisaab mein hain?

maana ke sakht mujrim o naa kaarah hai ye abd
tera hi to hai bandah e dargaah le khabar

gunah e gadaa ka hisaab kya woh agar karoron se hain siwa
magar ay afuww tere afw ka, na hisaab hai na shumar hai

turning around your own method, even THIS is not absolute. yes these are strong factors for acceptance/non-acceptance of dua as said in hadith - but that does not mean every dua of a person eating Haram is ABSOLUTELY rejected. wAllahu a'alam.

Allah ta'ala accepts the du'a of whom He Wills.

ibn rajab says: [see jamiy al-ulum of ibn rajab, under arbayin al-nawawi, #10] v1/p275:

    jamiyulum 1-p275.png

the interrogative mood "how can it be accepted from him" indicates that it is unlikely; not that it is an explicit negation or explicitly considering it impossible to be accepted, and that it is absolutely rejected.

just as He did not say that He will forgive ONLY the righteous:

but yes, the righteous can hope for a reward and forgiveness; and the sinners may expect retribution. those are indications - guidelines for us to follow. wa billahi't tawfiq.

    ---
similarly in another hadith, it is said about "three dua which are accepted and there is no doubt in their acceptance, the dua of the oppressed person, the dua of the traveller and the dua of a father for his son". [see jamiy al-ulum of ibn rajab, under arbayin al-nawawi, #10]

    jamiyulum,1-p269.png

yet the hadith that you quoted mentioned a traveller whose dua is in danger of not being accepted. nas'alu Allaha al-aafiyah.

    ---
if one goes literal, we have to be circumspect about anyone calling themselves muslim: because whoever lies [kadhib] is not a muslim! and carry a disclaimer, "please state if you lie because a muslim cannot lie".

If you are patient, righteous, and grateful and make dua for X all the time, there is still no guarantee that you will get X, right?

Man is weak. I want X and only X.

May Allah give us more wisdom to be grateful for what we have and to see the benefit of whatever Allah gives and doesn't give.
    Ameen

yes of course. and there is no denying it.
but you missed the context. also, the original question was rephrased to which this was answered, which contributes slightly to the lack of context.

    ---
the statement was a translation of the hadith - now one can quibble that kafir's dua is not accepted, or a fasiq's dua is not accepted, or asking the impossible such as prophethood is not accepted etc. but the spirit of the statement is, that assuming that you have fulfilled conditions of dua - every dua of yours will be accepted.

qurtubi in his tafsir says that "Allah ta'ala has not stipulated a condition for acceptance"

in tafsir of surah ghafir, 40:60; vol.18 p.376

    qurtubi v18p376.png

and in the tafsir of surah baqarah, 2:186; vol.3 p.178

    tafsirqurtubi v3p178.png

    and also answers your objection:

    surah baqarah, 2:186; vol.3 p.179

    tafsirqurtubi v3p179.png

    ---
incidentally this crosses with the other thread - about 'karim' - this is not absolute, and it is said in a context.
if one reads hadith with this kind of literal zeal, we will face the fatwa: 'every person who omits an obligatory prayer is a kafir'.

you can pick up a work like hikam ibn aTayillah and list exceptions for every hikmah in his book.

    Allah ta'ala knows best.

  9. Your attentiveness, presence of heart, what you eat, your internal state and humility all play significant factors and Allah Knows Best
Also, if you spend the rest of your life asking for something while not getting it due to humility it is better than making Dua once with surety of getting that thing

this is not true. There are several reasons the dua is not accepted and one can look for the reasons and find out. Explicit ahadeeth about this, thought you already knew about this.

“He lifts his hands and makes supplication, ‘O Lord, O Lord,’ but his diet is unlawful, his drink is unlawful, and his clothes are unlawful, and his nourishment is unlawful. How then can his supplication be accepted?” (Similar version in Hadith reported by Ahmad, Muslim, and al-Tirmidhi from Abu Hurayrah, as mentioned in sahih al-Jami #2744) “A person’s Dua will continue to be answered so long as he does not pray for something sinful or for the breaking of family ties.” Narrated by Muslim

“By Him in Whose Hand my life is, you either enjoin good and forbid evil, or Allah will certainly soon send His punishment to you. Then you will make supplication and it will not be accepted.” (At-Tirmidhi)

indeed we live in strange times.

someone asked: how can we know that dua is not accepted and that it may not be in our destiny; and so that we should not continue making dua for that thing?

    ----
    reply:
    ----
how can anyone know about this? unless the one who accepts it Himself says, 'this dua'a is not acceptable'. as He said:

    ----
    obviously, you do not know.
so obviously, you keep doing dua.

because, Allah ta'ala did not put a condition - rather He said: 'call Me; i will accept your dua' [ghafir, 40:60]

in saHiH hadith, RasulAllah sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam said.

"your dua will be accepted so long as one is not hasty about it. that is one says: 'i made dua but it was not accepted'.

    ====
every dua of yours is accepted, in sha'Allah. however, the effect is according to His choice.

suppose you ask for X. this is accepted but its effect is:

    - you get X. this is obvious and visible.
    - you get Y instead of X; such as warding off an evil or adversity from you etc. and it is better for you. this is not apparent unless you think about it.
    - you neither get X nor Y in this dunya. rather, this is stored for you, and you will be compensated in the hereafter.

as said in hadith: mustadrak hakim 1867

    ---
one cannot say that their dua is not accepted. besides, one should have good opinion about Allah ta'ala as He said - 'I am near My slave, as he expects Me to be. and I am with him, when he calls upon Me.'

    sahih muslim, #2675.

    ======
imam ibn atayillah al-sakandari, in his famous hikam says: #6

let not the delay in the coming of the grant, in spite of your persistence and sincere beseeching, be a reason for you to despair [that your dua has not been accepted].

    for He has guaranteed acceptance for what He chooses - not what you choose for your own self;
and in the time of His choosing - not according to the time you have yourself chosen.

    ---
    imam shafiyi said explaining this:

    a tahza'u bi'd du'ai wa tazdarihi
wa ma tadri bima sana'ad du'au
    sihamu'l layli laa tukTi'y walakin
    laha amadun wa li'l amadi'nqiDau
fa yumsikuha idha ma sha'a rabbi
    wa yursiluha idha nafadha'l qaDau

do you belittle dua, [prayer to your Lord Almighty] and forsake it?
do you not know what du'a can do?
the arrows fired in the dead of the night [i.e. beseeching, prayers] will not miss their mark, BUT -
they have a time [to pass]; and that time will have to pass.
it [the grant] is withheld, so long as my Lord Almighty wishes
and is dispatched, when His Divine Command Ordains it.
