The target audience of the Barelvi ʿulamā' is not the arabs, it is the people of the sub-continent. The only reason the dev authored these commentaries in arabic were in response to the the commentaries by Azimabadi and Mubarakfuri on the two sunans.Why would Arab ʿulamā' need to read to the commentaries of the deobandi 'scholars' when they have the likes of Ibn Ḥajar, al-Nawawī, al-Qastallani, al-Ayni in their commentaries on ḥadīth, or Mulla ʿAlī al-Qari in his commentary on Mishkāẗ. Ibn Raslan, al-Ayni on commentaries of Abū Dāwūd.

What's the basis of the takfeer for the entire group, even at that time? Some of them clearly say things which are kufr but speaking more on the general group as opposed to individuals amongst them?
the internet of today is the radio and tv of the 70's and 80's on steroids just as you find so many "ex-Muslims" on twitter that are actually hindus and jews trying to lead people to apostasy, so many devbandis too masquerade as Arabs. the guy might as well be Arab, but take anything on cyberspace with a bucket of salt! secondly, the Abdullah al-Karmi fellow says: as a group yes, they are ruled khawarij by Ibn Abidin as for individuals, i'm yet to read about ibn abdulwahhab (or maybe read and forgot) being ruled a murtad, but given that his son who tried to propagate his ideas was certainly cross examined with due process of the law under the Ottomans and was executed as a murtad in Istanbul, as were some of his grandsons and other wahabi imams, it's a safe bet many ulama of that time considered that shaytan as a murtad. السلام عليكم As a response to the recent Deo Mufti's video regarding the statement on the donkey in prayer, the Deobandis are now responding with this. If somebody could please verify the translation & explain it or so. This is one of the bigger Deo accounts too. Ashraf Sialvi Barelvi writes:“It is forbidden to think about the Nabi and not to pay attention to the him during Salah, because this wil create ta’zeem of Mustafa ﷺ, and the TAWHEED of Allah will be disturbed.
