An aspect of Shaykh Asrar that may have been missed is the fact that his father is not a scholar yet still the shaykh has reached such heights. Often, many leading ulama are from a family of ulama. This makes his accomplishments all the more noteworthy. Take me. That my brother is a graduate is not out of the ordinary as we come from a scholarly heritage. Even my own few Islamic endeavours are expected due to my background. That Barelwism runs in my blood is normal. So we should appreciate people like Shaykh Asrar who don't even hail from such a background yet surpass most.
I have the same impression (gained from scrolling through the viewer comments directed at "brother Paul"). May be Shaykh Asrar and others who have met him in person can confirm.
I haven't seen any video where he says he is a Muslim or where he says the shahada. I asked him in comments but he didn't respond.
Is Paul a revert or just a Muslim sympathiser? I still haven't figured out if Paul has gained guidance yet.
