    As salaam alaykum wa rahmatullah

There have been some improvements recently to my website www.MuslimsInBritain.org, especially to the masjid map feature at

    http://mosques.muslimsinbritain.org/maps.php

Occasionally other threads in the Sunniport forums have found the map and directory pages useful for locating Sufi-inclined (and not-so inclined) masjids, so since a large part of the map data is now correct, I am making a special plea for you to look at the map and find any masjids you are familiar with and use the map updating facility (i) to move the masjid marker to pinpoint the exact position of the masjid and (ii) correct any information about it. In particular, you will see that I have marked Sufi-inclined masaajid with a bright green marker and ones where I do not know the aqidah are in sky-blue. When you click on the masjid icon, you get a bubble showing the address, and if you click the [+] or the masjid name, you get a fuller window of all that I know of the masjid, and a satellite picture and a moveable icon in the picture. It will tell you, eg "Sufi - Bareilvi" or "Sufi - Naqshbandi" or "Sufi - Fultoli" (all green icons) or "Deobandi" (dark blue icons) or "Salafi" (orange icons) etc. If you want to move the marker to its correct position, if that is wrong, or tell me that the masjid is a particular aqidah, use the "Provide Feedback" link at the bottom of the masjid marker's window and then the "Submit ..." button, I will receive your updates. Everyone will benefit, insha'Allah, and when people contact me for a web-based project, I share the latest version of the masjid data with them. Actually anyone can re-use the data - my website also has a tool to turn the latest data into a satnav file you can download and use, for practically any satnav or similar application.

There are about 1800 locations marked on the map, of which about 1500 are valid masaajid. All but about 400 have been located within 20 metres or so, and about 800 have now been located exactly. There are about 300 masjids I have marked as Sufi-inclined, and about 350 as Deobandi inclined. But there are about 600 sky-blue/unknown ones still, so please help settle these if you can.

    salaams
